If you wear glasses, I cannot recommend STRONGLY enough getting a pair of cheap "larp glasses." http://www.zennioptical.com/ You'll need your prescription and your pupilary distance. Your eye doctor should be able to provide you this information. If they want to know why, just tell them you're getting a pair of cheap throw-aways for sporting activites. You can also explain to them what larp is at this time.
Pros: You can leave your expensive, nice glasses in the car and not worry about leaving them onsite. (I've seen glasses lost forever this way by people who did not have eye insurance!)
+ You can pick glasses that match your costume. Gold square rimmed glasses for a prim character. Big black round glasses for a Raccon kin. Use your imagination!
+ If somebody accidentally smashes them, it isn't a big deal. (Usually, what happens is they fall off your face and somebody steps on them)
+ If your glasses are damaged somehow, then your spare for getting home is always safe in your car. (Leave them in your car!)
The following list might be long, but don't worry about forgetting something, usually somebody has brought a spare along and is willing to help you out!
Items I recommend
Water or Powerade
Water additive. I like Mio. I DO recommend something with sugar instead of artificial sweetners, because you'll be doing heavy exercise and will need the blood sugar.
Bug repellent (if it is a concern)
any medication you take
Over the counter medication for any problem you might be prone to, especially when dehydrated (Headaches, constipation, heartburn, sleep aid)
A sleeping mask/blackout mask. When sleeping near other players and they turn on lights, you may be sensitive to be woken up. Also, you might not want to wake up at dawn.
moccasins or other slip on shoes for late night bathroom breaks. NO SANDALS
For the ladies - remember your feminine hygiene products and cramp relief, just in case.
A separate plastic bag containing your Sunday comfort clothes inside your regular bag. This way you don't accidentally "use" your driving home socks and items.
A 1' Orange ribbon on your keys, in case they get dropped in the woods (but please put them somewhere safe).
A waterproof orange box. Walmart has a cheap one. Put your keys, phone, wallet and other important items in it so that it's easy to find and they stay safe. Place this box out of sight, in your OOG stuff. http://www.amazon.com/MTM-Survivor-...6793554&sr=1-7&keywords=orange+waterproof+box
Coffee/Energy drink. Especially if you are sensitive in fluctuation of your caffeine intake - you don't want to get a headache b/c you interrupted your routine.
Trail Snacks - things with a lot of protein like nuts. Target has some of the best prices on large jars of nuts. Keep the carbs/sugars to a minimum since they cause a rush/crash if not supplemented with proteins.
Lots of changes of socks. Even if your shoes are waterproof. Dry shoes for after the event.
Costuming/Weapons/Makeup/Pillow/Blankets or Sleeping Bag
Insect net for sleeping (for people with allergies to spiders or other insects)
Small personal light and whistle.
Lantern to leave in sleeping area
Donations
Other items of comfort
Pretty much anything you might want during a similar camping trip.
Battery powered fan for sleeping for hot months, some sites may have power outlets, but don't count on it. Remember, the bigger the battery (Cs or Ds) the cheaper it'll be to run/last longer.
Solar Shower (some sites have showers, other do not)
Water Shoes for showers
Airbed (room permitting) Most sites have camping mattresses provided.
Babywipes (remove makeup and grit easily)
Cooler with ice and cold items
Spray bottle to mist self with water (hot months)
