Vengeance with a carrier

The description of Vengeance according to the rulebook page on page 145 says Vengeance cannot be Resisted, Dodged, or avoided in any other way. However a question came up when I realized that the new Vengeance scroll can create an 'Earth Vengeance'.

Can a Vengeance with a carrier, such as '180 Earth Vengeance' be avoided with a Cloak Healing? Or does the 'unavoidable' nature of Vengeance take precedent and prevent one from using a defensive in that situation?

The scroll specifically states that this special case is covered as follows:

"Earth/Chaos type Vengeance (as Vengeance but only creatures vulnerable to the appropriate Energy take damage or effect from this ability)."

Thus, the extra "Earth" or "Chaos" modifier does not work as a normal carrier (since Vengeance is itself a carrier), but merely informs the victim that they are only affected if they are normally vulnerable to that type of damage. Since two carriers are not normally allowed, consider this just like the scroll says - it's a Vengeance (unresistable damage) that only affects things which take a particular type of damage.
