WANTED: New Head of Logistics

Robb G

Exemplar
The time has come for me to step down as head of Logistics at HQ and level up in the real world for a while. So we're putting the word out that HQ is looking to fill this Staff position.

We can train you, and keep in mind that if you run the Logistics Desk at an event, you can PC that event for free. There is a Goblin Stamp Salary that comes with the position, and I've spent the last few years cleaning things up and preparing a Logistics Handbook with detailed info about how our database works and how to run an organized Logistics Desk Before, During, and After an Event. That means no experience is required and if you're not already familiar with all of the rules in the game, running Logistics is actually a great way to get to know them fast and remember them always.

Interested parties can e-mail our General Manager Michelle at ashburygm@gmail.com

The sooner you snatch up this opportunity, the longer we have to train you before our first event at the end of April. If you know anyone who might be interested, please pass this info along to them as well.

Thanks in advance to anyone interested!

Soon-to-be-former Head of logistics

First, I want to thank Robb for doing an awesome job as HoL. A lof of you haven't seen the work he's done behind the scenes to make the staff's job easier, but trust me I have, and I really do appreciate it.

Second, I'd like to thank the logistics crew (Robb please let me know if I'm forgetting anybody): Amanda, Dave, Jinu, Kyle and Bryan for cutting and pulling countless tags, helping our players have a better experience, and just being overall awesome.

Remember as HoL you will not be working alone, and the other senior staff will always be available for questions if you need some help.

Looking forward to a great 2011 season,

Michelle

It's been an honor to serve. I think Dan Aldi deserves special thanks as well for many devoted hours to the cause.

Robb,

Your still playing though right? You are one of the most organized and insightful people I've met here man. When I got to really see everything involved I was amazed you could keep all the balls in the air. You have massive shoes to fill. And guys what an awesome team! You have brian who's the man with product, Dan the man who is essential Saturdays, dave who is a tag pulling Mega star, amanda the unsung hero of awesomeness and jinu the resident spell Guy. Though we don't se him enough. Robb you formed an awesome team but still gunna miss you bro in that position.

Grats!

I look forward to working with whomever the next suc... *ahem* your successor is. :funny:

Robb,

I just want to thank you for all the help you've given me my first year playing. You helped me figure out all the best areas to use everything. If it weren't for you I don't think my character would be where she is now. Thanks and I hope the next person is just as good as you.

Angel

Thanks Robb for everything (as Michelle has said)! It's always great when logistics runs smoothly so that the rest of us on staff don't have to worry, and it's always nice when players are happy with logistics. (Nothing gets people in a bad mood early if logistics is slow or poorly run!)

It's true that the Logistics chair gets a free event but anyone applying should understand that the main reason for this is because you miss a lot of the event because you're stuck in logistics till late at night on Friday (after having gotten to the site early to get it ready) and might miss stuff on Saturday too. You're also required to go OOG to run it if, for instance, someone suddenly shows up on Saturday morning. So while it is very rewarding and is an important and essential task, all Logistics people will tell you that it can be a pain, too! (Right, Mike and Missy?)

Not that I want to scare anyone away, but I do want you to know what you're getting into!

Just so everyone knows... I am at least a month behind on Logistics e-mail requests (obviously i have very little time to do this anymore).

I apologize to those who think they are being ignored, I will try to get to these as soon as possible.... but this only underlines the need for others to step up and get involved. The sooner someone else is handling these requests, the smoother things are going to run.

I will attempt to process as many requests as I can this weekend. I am leaving for Indiana soon after that to work on my upcoming album and will not be back until February...

The Logistics backlog has been taken care of. We will continue to keep things updated until the changing of the guard. More info to come.
