Hi Everyone! I'm from Vermont, I usually play Syraandor and Caldaria and I'll be coming to Seattle for the Feb event. I'm the one (or at least my Scavenger is) that people were debating about on the HQ Rules Thread. I'm actually bringing another character instead, but I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself, and see if there was anything I needed to know, like: is there any place I can get information about the game site? Can I pay for my membership and the event through a staff member? What's the weather like in Washington this time of year (someone said there was flooding right now)? Just little things. I can't wait to meet all the players and their characters. Thanks!

Hey, Lyndsay!

Glad to hear you'll be making it out to the event--should be an especially good one.

You can find info about the site here:

http://www.neroseattle.com/site.htm (Miller's State Park)

Offical Site: http://www.parks.wa.gov/parkpage.asp?selectedpark=Millersylvania&pageno=1

And: http://www.ontherun.com/vicmaps/millersylvania/

We use the ELC (Environmental Learning Center).

Or you can do a google search.

As for your other questions, I can tell you that if you pre-register (logistics (@) neroseattle (dot) com--send in spell tree info, skills, magic items you'll be transferring in, etc. Questions can be sent to that address too) you'll get a discounted rate and they generally receive payments during Friday night logistics.

The weather question I can't answer--not from there. =( But I can tell you that it can get fairly cold (though likely not as cold as it gets in Vermont), but the weather up there is funky so who knows what it'll be like in February. I'm sure the locals could answer this far better than I, so I'm going to shut up now. ;p

If you need a place to stay in-game, I'd recommend posting in the Dreamscape; there are almost always beds open in one house or another. =]

Look forward to meeting you. =D

Actually, the weather has been CRAZY lately. During the event this last weekend, it was in the 20's. Now, nearly a week afterwards, its been around 60. So... expect flippingly cold, or really comfortable breezes.

Our site is at Millersylvania ELC as Adam has stated. Its big, and very classy. The cabins are warm (relative term), and the Tavern is very nice.

I would recommend getting yourself onto the dreamscape and getting to know the locals. Just a warning though: if we unleash all sorts of pent up aggression on you, we dont mean to. We have been going through some stressful days lately.

Anyway, good to have you and any others who are coming on over from the East Coast.

Warm or cold, expect rain. LOTS of rain. Whether we get it or not, who knows, but you won't be sorry for packing an extra towel and socks.

Adam has about the right of it. Email logistics@neroseattle.com your stuff and get your home campaign to do the character transfer for the event. Payment is done on site.

One thing to make sure of -- note that there is NO food supplied for the event. If you NPC they feed you, otherwise you're expected to bring your own chow.

So...just how many people are planning on coming out from the East Coast? Anyone know?

Thanks!

Thanks for the responses and messages everyone! I really appreciate you all going out of your way to make a traveler feel welcome! For people from the East Coast, I know of one person from NH, and two from NJ; though there may be others I don't know about. Maybe even some from Mass.

Also, I wanted to add that I make costumes and wondered if anyone was interested in things such as cloaks, tabards, tunics, etc. Those are generally generic sizes and I could make them and bring them to the event. Just one way I'm looking to cover expenses :D Tabards and Tunics run about $30-35 (depends on material, size) and Cloaks are between $40-80 (if it's reversable, lined, has a trim, the type of fastener, etc.) I have patterns for other things too. Oh, I can even make Scavenger Tails. Here are some examples of what I've done:

http://nero_kingdom.tripod.com/draggin.html (surcoat and tabard of the two guys in the middle)

http://nero_kingdom.tripod.com/pantzike.html (whole thing, even the tail)

http://nero_kingdom.tripod.com/twilightelf.html (robe and the drawings on it)

http://nero_kingdom.tripod.com/oldorc.html (cloak lined with fleece and fur)

http://nero_kingdom.tripod.com/drizztme.html (cloak with fur)

I could probably make and pack 4 or 5 costumes, as long as I know within the next few weeks. My email is Autozbot@aol.com, and I check it regularly. Thanks again everybody!

I'm the guy from NH

Lindsay and I will be coming together.

I can vouch for lindsays talents I have her make all my costuming. I'm the elf with the Blus robe she has given for an example.
