Waylay Tips

With the implementation of latex weapons new rules have been created to govern them. Some of them would seem to give an advantage to latex weapons practically and aesthetically. The waylay/thrusting tips are not a requirement for latex weapons with the condition you cannot thrust or waylay. Do these new rules extend to traditional boffers?
If not, are the rules only intended for the expensive "realistic" latex weapons or are boffers covered in latex allowed to lack waylay tips?

I believe there is discussion elsewhere about weapon requirements in light of the introduction of latex weapons. Currently, the existing rules in the book apply to boffers just as they did before the introduction of latex weaponry; however, as always you should talk to your local marshals and Head of Rules to see what might be allowed in your specific chapter.

If and when updates are made to the core rulebook's weapon specifications for boffers, they will be posted here.
