While I was exploring the battlefields after the gathering yesterday.

I came across a bracelet with magical abilities while out tracking and scouting in maelstrom last night after our fights. I'll get it identified as soon as I'm able and then we can add it to the list of treasure we found. Does that sound good to everyone?

That sounds absolutely fair Kjeld. Good eyes and good scouting. Be more cautious next time, however, as those fields can be dangerous to scout alone.

Then again, there is not much fun in being careful. It's way more fun to be outgoing and doing crazy stuff.

Resete, I wanted to talk to you about something that had happened to me this last gather. I'm feeling off and I've been told that I've been touched with Genesis. As you are a friend that has also been touched by these elementals and one that I see more often than others I was wondering if you'd be willing to guide me through and help me understand exactly what that means for me.

Kjeld son of Bjarn

You have been touched as well? I do not know if I can say this is a good or a bad thing. Like so many things, being touched by the elements has benefits, and drawbacks.

Which aspect of Genesis touched you directly, may I ask? Was it life? Order? Being touched has had varying results on individuals and what happens with each element is different. The life elementals, for example, have been impregnating individuals in a manner. While it gives some protection against death, you saw the results this day when they exploded forth from Ashlin's body.

Provide me with some detail, and I will be glad to assist to the best of my ability.

I was rifted away and ripped from my path against my will by a large individual with a very large hammer, who I believe held the title of "judge". I think he was an order elemental. He said he was to pass sentence on me, but I am still confused as to why exactly. He said that we would no longer be able to deal with any elementals, apparently he spoke for all of them? I do not care if I'm able to deal with elementals any longer. Just about every elemental I've attempted to deal with has just been outright hostile and refused to listen to reason but they feel they can pass judgement on me and infect my spirit without even listening to me or giving me a clear reason?! If I come across an elemental causing any amount of trouble I will not hesitate to raise steel to it. I've no more patience with these beings, their obscene ways make my teeth grind and my wolf growl in protest.

Kjeld son of Bjarn

I will do more research into this my friend. I am not fond of what the elementals are doing to you, or others. We shall attempt to remedy your situation in any way we can.

Bjarnson - It's possible this creature does not hold the same values as you, or even understand your opposition to its action. Many elementals I have met have no concept of mortality or Spirits as they have none themselves. Does a mountain care if a rock is worn away? Will the stone mourn a loose pebble? And yet, a tribe considers every member as unique and important, even down to the weakest child. Its possible these creatures have as much attachment to eachother as you do to strands in your cloak - they may not understand the value you place in your own Spirit or that of your kin. Or, perhaps, it cannot act as other than it did: can your sword be anything other than a sword without your intervention? Perhaps this Judge cannot act except in judgement. If you learned anything from the Hearthmistress, it's to understand non-mortals do not think or act or mortals.

Suffice it to say, I would caution against hostility as your first recourse. Defense is often warranted, but unchecked aggression tends toward more imbalance than less.
