The death-touched High Ogres of the North, calling themselves the Marwolaeth, assault the Esate of Abbot in Brittington. Duchess Sonia Forthiatis receives word that the Duchy of Falkirk is crumbling quickly and that Duke Colin Hendry is already dead. Refugees flood the borders of Falkirk’s neighbors. In a moment of desperation, the brave Duchess takes a handful of Ashban and Britting warriors through the mystic gates of the Geolithes to aid Falkirk in whatever way possible.
It is within this anxious era...that there are tales to tell.
The Fall of Falkirk (2012-2013 Winter Response.)
The Fall of Falkirk is a fairly huge thing, historically and militarily. The Duchy of Falkirk has roughly the same square footage as the State of Delaware. That much land will be a massive endeavor to hold or claim. The Marwolaeth have the upper hand with numbers, but the Falkirks are dug in. Teleporting strike teams become ultra-useful in this kind of situation, but it’s dangerous.
Several bandit and mercenary companies still plague the Corrheim front. The Dara’s Grace border is immense and Ducal patrols and outposts are fewer and farther between in the cold days of winter. Pleas to gain aid from the royal military are as of yet unanswered. It is a bleak watch, but a necessary one. Sentry duty gives time for personal endeavors and those who wish to serve and yet still pursue their own aims would do best to serve here.
The tale of the Fall of Falkirk begins two to three weeks before the October event of 2012. It will be told as a narrative that will include any character whose players have volunteered them. Anyone who wishes to participate in this may post on this thread. PC involvement begins immediately after the October event.
There are three options for what you may do:
1. The Fall of Falkirk (Character has a role in this part of the narrative, requires more control from me than usual in writeup responses. The agreement being that I do not write anything out of character for them. )
2. Defend the Corrheim border. (This part of the narrative allows you to pursue one major goal during the Narrative and two minor goals via private email.)
3. Anything else. (I am truncating this winter to three actions due to the effort that the narrative will take. These characters will not appear in the Narrative.)
