The Vaeltarii city provides. Food, water, shelter. These necessities, and more are quickly discovered by the Lantern Bearers, once the initial shock of the previous nights events ebbs away. Somewhat numb from the hurried flight into the realm of the Neverlight, hungry, and thirsty the Bearers take refuge in the city below.
The following “day” is spent dealing with the cities innate guardian, and once that is seen to, the much more urgent reality of food, and water takes priority. Luckily, a combination of resourcefulness, a Vaeltarii native, and no shortage of determination leads the days efforts to fruition.
The city, is laid out much the way a very orderly military encampment is laid out. A long mostly rectangular space seems to be what has been worked into this section of the Neverlight. Several very large stalagmites have been formed into structures, and with some cursory checking they appear to house an earth circle that the guardian was fought in, a celestial circle that glows from behind a ward, and a third stalagmite that houses an armory/smithy. Another stalagmite seems to have been more formally shaped, and leads to the under level from whence some of the Lantern Bearers gained entry into the city proper, and yet another seems sealed altogether.
The Lantern Bearers are left unmolested through the city/encampment from the guardians that roam the area. Most of the structures appear to be permanent/semi-permanent cloth/leather structures that look like they could be broken down, and moved if desired. A few structures seem to defy the efforts of the Lantern bearers, with locks, and other measures that defy dispel magics, and even some of the efforts of those with the skills to normally bypass such terrestrial defenses, even the locks seem indestructible.
That being said there is plenty to eat, and for those who lost equipment, clothes, and other such items they have no problem finding replacements for said clothing, gear, bedding, and other such materials.
That evening turns into a bit of a small revel. A full belly, no dry scratch of thirst, and perhaps just happy to be alive combines with the efforts made by the many to find food in the form of preserves, salted meats, pickled items, and other dry materials. A few bottles of a fantastic, heavy bodied Vaeltarii spirits are also found later in the evening.
