Wolfkin

so i know this has been done before, but i'm looking for advice on how to pick up the costume bits.

i would like to have fur, but i also want to wear clothes, so i was thinking of using tights to represent the skin and velcro or something patches of wigs onto the spots that i have uncovered, but i really have no idea how to make it so that i would have at least some fur. any help would be appreciated. i'm going to post this on the general discussion boards too.

i am in no hurry to get this costume done, its an alt, but an alt i would very much like to play and to become my main as soon as it is done.

anyways any help would be appreciated

and you can buy a good quality prostetic nose at

as for other fur on exposed areas,
i would think that such would be extreamly hot especially during the summer months of june, july and august
but if you go to joann's, you can probably get short fur or long fur.

or just wear a thin type of long sleeve shirt.
or just use cake makeup

Boy, playing a kin in the summer heat. You must be hardy. I have a bearkin I played one winter weekend, and I still swetted, even with nothing underneath my bear kit except a light t-shirt (to prevent my skin from chafing on the inside of the faux fur). I made an anorak with bear ears on the hood, put brown makup on my face and blackened my nose.

Are you SURE you want to play a furry kin in the summer?

For the Kin I'm working on, I'm using a fur collared leather vest over Under Armour and using fur bits poking through holes. I'm accenting the vest with claws purchased from a fur company.

They do have wolf claws, but they cost $15 each, compared to $0.40 each for the coyote, fox, etc. That company is a great company to work with, they ship really fast, but they do charge a $3 fee for orders less than $30.00 (You can always order more stuff!).

As for masks, the Kangena masks are awesome, I would love one of their masks for the Kin I'm bringing in next year. Their wolf mask is pretty cool, the level of custom painting they do for their masks is great.

You can find sites selling remnant bags of fake or real fur. My local fabric/sewing store has a remnant section where they sell small pieces, estate sales are also a great place to look. If you want real fur, rabbit hides can be purchased cheaply and can be found in a variety of colors.

Depending on how much to want to spend and how furry you want to be. Here's someone that makes a full hooded mask with moving jaw. I wish i could get one for my Wolf-kin NPC. As for other parts of the body, i say get a tail, make gloves, and make shoe covers for feet. I've been trying to figure out that last one. Most likely Fur(with toes and claws) strapped to your shoe via elastic.

Mask webs site.

The less fur you have on, the less likely you'll be soaked under all of it.

When I was still playing my fox-kin, and when he was a black leopard sarr before that, I got a lot of mileage out of underarmor shirts. Good ear and tail reps, facial prosthetics if necessary, and something roughly the right color on the body below the garb makes a good image that doens't lead to heat exhaustion in the summer.

Thinking about going Wolfkin once I start PC'ing (if I start PC'ing)...but wearing glasses sort of spoils mask ideas.

I can wear glasses with my prosthetic. Just get one that doesn't expand your nasal bridge that much.
