Wooden chainmail! I think...

So, I was over at a friend-of-a-friend's house, and they had these interesting looking place mats:

As far as I can tell, they're just flat, wooden "beads" with two strings going through each one. The question is, if you could find beading thread strong enough, maybe double-triple up on it, how well do you think this would work as dryad armor? I don't play a dryad, but if I did, I think that I would give this a try with a dark wood stain.

So, would anyone consider trying this, or is it just silly?

http://nerohq.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6409 at least discussed the idea of wooden scale armor, with pics even. That's certainly doable. I don't think it'd make for more than a 1-point set of armor, though.

At one point, I considered wooden curtain/napkin rings to make ringmail out of, so heck. Leather and wood-ring armor? Sure, give it a go.
