Templar Build Discussion

Racial Dodge and Racial Resist Magic. Go go.

resist element and resist poison. Stop all elemental calls as well as all Evo spells. multiple times per day. also stop all those silly poisons. :)

Oh, the Sarr racials situation has been a travesty for ages. Claws are okay, but not great, because what makes them great is situational. Resist Poison is good, but those two things together aren't neHEARly enough to justify the shopping list of skills they simply can't have.

Claws are useless, IMHO, since magic weapons and spirit link/locks (which alone make them magical) are so prevalent. Case and point, in Oregon & Seattle, for $80 roughly I can have a spirit locked sword for a year. Even better, just NPC for a year, then you have the experience and the gobbies to get one for 5 years.

Again, we raccoons did not have the knowledge of this beforehand otherwise we would have picked better racials.

Everyone knows hoblings are the best templars anyhow. And Scholars, Rogues, basically best everything not fighter.

Yes but Resist Magic and Dodges work on Oblits, Shatter Spirits and Destroy Magics.

Stupid Fae. Stupid Lord of Echoes. Stupid cardio tree. Stupid phoenix. :(

Good luck getting a Kyn approved with Resist Magic, let alone Resist Magic + Dodge.

Rabbit? Agile and Lucky and/or rabbit's foot is a protective totem.

In Europe, the tradition of carrying the foot of a rabbit probably stems from ancient totemic beliefs that humans descended from animals, and particular tribes had their origins in specific species. A tribe worshiped its animal ancestor, and carried parts of that animal as protective totems.

Dodge on a rabbit makes sense. Resist Magic on any Kyn, though, would be extremely hard to justify simply because you would be hard pressed to find an example of an animal being able to naturally resist the supernatural. Validation through mythology and superstition is equivalent to attempting to having a mythological Kyn in my mind. :)

If anything, due to rabbits being so prevalent in stereotypical magic tricks, I would debate that any argument about a rabbit's connection to magic be one where they are more susceptible, not less, should one take a mythological stance on the topic. ;)

Edit to add: P.S. I am not trying to say you can't have Resist Magic on a Kyn. I'm just saying that it will likely be difficult to convince a Plot team to approve Resist Magic on a Kyn.

True Empowered Racial Transformation.

Justification complete.

PFM. Literally.

Cockroach Kin... Resist Necro...

Ultimately, I support the concept that a Kyn shouldn't be at Plot's discretion, anyways. The "type," sure, but not the racials.

I can get behind it not being Plot's approval. But, I do think there needs to be an approving body for the racial abilities to prevent radical and illogical pairing (perhaps Logistics?). Otherwise we would get Slothkyn with Resist Magic and Racial Dodge! Granted, that is hyperbole, but I think it makes my point.

And with that I think I have derailed the topic enough. I apologize. :)

removing since it's not in line with my own OP.
