You could make us all draw cabins from a fishbowl.

    Weapon construction

Oh man, MaxIrons, I didn't even think of that. I live in New Mexico so I didn't even think about rain. Lol... Well... http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Stops-Rust-18-oz-NeverWet-Multi-Purpose-Spray-Kit-274232/204216476, guess I'm making a hardware store run.

Inaryn, is that to say that you acquired a duct tape sheet and cut your heraldry out of it? If I can find a sheet of black duct tape that I could cut, that would work even better.

    Weapon construction

Uh-oh, I've just made three shields, I couldn't find anything in the rulebook regulating how the core must be made, just how thick it should be. Are folks just adding materials to the core for thickness requirements, or did I miss something completely from the rulebook on shield construction...

So it turns out that Krylon spray paint is hit or miss. I bought a can of black Krylon and it sticks to duct tape just fine. The problem I had was getting a tight seal between the stencil I used and my shield. Some of the spraypaint I used actually seeped underneath the edges of my stencil...

    Memorable Moments

You guys do not assassinate your corrupt, treasure-stealing nobles at Alliance Denver? Nobility was like 90% fatal at one of my previous LARPs if they did not keep the adventurers happy.

If you have a shield covered in Duct Tape, how you get your heraldry on it? Do you use markers? Acrylic paint? I'm tossing a guild icon on my shield but I'm not sure what to use for getting something that looks good over duct tape.

Thrusting Tips on Homemade Boffer Weapons

Lol, nice, Cedric. I ended up using my pipe cutter and just removing the head from the hammer in its entirety. Then I cracked open the Alliance rulebook and actually followed the directions about building the weapon like a normal sword, then securing the head to the shaft (there's no other way...

Thrusting Tips on Homemade Boffer Weapons

I'm going through the pains of creating my first weapons right now. I'm like 99% certain that my warhammer wouldn't pass safety. I had the BRIGHT idea to take two pieces of open-cell foam for the "head" of the weapon, to make them stick together, I used Locktite 12 spray adhesive, now I have a...

I saw that too, thanks IMoriarty, I'll go ahead and wear the full kit and hope for the best. If nothing else, I'll look cool.

Lol, thanks Jesse. That was about the answer I was expecting.

    Armor Points

Quick clarification. I was reading page 79 in the rulebook and came across something a little different than was enforced when I played some time ago. Armor doesn't stack right? So there's no point in wearing great-looking leather pauldrons, gorget, and like a sweet looking winged leather...

    Order of the Vigilant Iconography

Allright thanks Trace. I sent Paul a message on the FBs and if the Owl he's got on his photos is the one being used that could totally work. In other, owl-related news... here is an image of the nest of possibly the most metal owl ever... http://imgur.com/gallery/u5iYALd

    Order of the Vigilant Iconography

Hey thanks Cedric! I found that one in my Googlings but when you're talking about porting something to garb, that thing has WAY too many lines in it to be garb-friendly. If there's nothing standard out there right now, I might just be inclined to go with something like this...

    Order of the Vigilant Iconography

So the Order of the Vigilant wears an owl. It's unfortunate that it's an OWL, in that there's no possible way to make an icon of an owl look cool on anything. But is there a standardized icon currently in use. As I've got a few months before we relocate to Colorado, I have time to prep my...
