    Finale Favorites

Game Favs Qori: "Start with Yeronkhai." Mari: "How do you spell th...never mind." Getting to go top-down in two major battles. It was a bit outside of the norm for Sasha, but it felt good to find something they cared about enough to break their own rules and go on the offense. Seeing Ollie...

    House Wyndael Sigil

Sasha will definitely put forth the broken chain as a sigil. :)

Tell us what you think so far... AND FAQ

The "emotional reaction" associated with highest-circle magic - are the details of that specified in the forthcoming player's guide, or is that character-dependent?

    fairday favs

I want to start by saying thank you to the staff and NPCs. You guys are serious rockstars when it came to dealing with a brand new world that, in many cases, was radically different from what everyone else was used to. You all carried off stuff like it was second-nature, despite it being brand...

Thousands of voices rise from the depths...

....another one?!? What were they thinking?!? This is Gawain ap Aderyn of the Lake Constant Bardic Circle. I'm okay. I'll be returning by the end of the month, I've got some very important information. Be safe everyone.

    Reed/Spore Dryads

I don't think it would get confused for any other race, which seems to be one of the big concerns. It might take people a minute to figure out what she is, mind you, but I'd be all for it. :)

    Reed/Spore Dryads

Love the placemat idea, and that crossbow looks seriously sweet. I've seen the suggestion of natural color raffia as a wig/extensions for a Reed, and thought it was cool, just not sure how well it would stand up to the elements/wear & tear.

    Reed/Spore Dryads

Great, thanks. I'd been thinking that a hat would be appropriate for a spore (or at least some types), but wasn't sure how to do it while making it look cool.

    Reed/Spore Dryads

I've been poking at some Dryad stuff, and while I've seen a number of Thorns, and a couple of Barkskin examples... has anybody played/seen a Reed or a Spore? I've been trying to get an accurate mental image of what an archetypical version of each of them would look like... and I'm not getting a...

    Traps, dammit!!! I want more.

We had one of those in CT for one mod- a couple of tables were pushed together to make the "tunnel" you needed to crawl through, and an NPC was swinging a polearm back and forth at a regular interval. Cramped space and instant death, great combo. :) Then again, I'm also a fan of "the floor is...

    How can we increase fun?

Absolutely. I mean, these characters are heroes, and not just to the locals. Bards might follow you, ask for more details on your exploits. Young farmhands ask for tips on how to be a better fighter. Some hotshot wants to challenge you to a spell duel. Maybe even a fanboy who thinks you're...

    How can we increase fun?

Plus, RP mods don't need as much statting, concerns about party balance, etc, and tends to be less physically draining on the NPCs. (And, in some cases, require a lower PC:NPC ratio.) Mind you, it takes a lot more prep-work, and can be emotionally draining to the NPCs, so it's not all win-win...

    Welcome Alliance Gettysburg!!!

Personally, I think folks should start with new characters and check out the totally awesome races we're building. Not that I'm biased or anything, you know. ;)

I'll be available for that. Should be on-site late Friday.

    Roguey-types and options

Maybe... but it's still a class where you need to use tricks and tools and wit more than brute strength. They've got low damage output from the front (barring ranged weapons), midrange armor, and middling body. It's not as noticeable at the lower levels, but at the higher levels, there's a...

    Rogue Footwear

I've got a pair of the kneehigh Sodhoppers with the goop soles - the traction's not as good as I'd like in, say, wet grass, but otherwise they're pretty good. I've had no issue running in them or sneaking, they're lightweight and flexible. Minnetonka Mocs has some boots (both low and high)...

What do our players really want? Let's ask them, all of them

Re: What do our players really want? Let's ask them, all of Perhaps instead of focusing on specific questions at the moment, how about looking at the sort of categories of questions we'd like to ask? I mean, are we looking for feedback on game mechanics ("Do you like the current Stun Limb...

    Roguey-types and options

Not that it shouldn't be a problem - a one-on-one fight for a rogue, against an aggressive target that knows you're there, puts the odds distinctly against a rogue. So, unless they've got a distinct OOG advantage over the NPC in terms of speed/fighting ability, the rogue's looking at a VERY bad...

    Roguey-types and options

::nods:: And that's certainly an option - but that doesn't leave a whole lot of time, at the rate some people speed through a rip-out count. One, maybe 2 shots at best. In that case, what's people's opinions - aim for an assassinate/terminate as you go past, or try to get off a waylay (since...

    Roguey-types and options

Right. I play an adept, so I've got access to the alchemy, the archery, and almost a full block of earth spells, so I've got options. However, occasionally, I get caught by myself, without a big stock of gasses, and facing things that rip out of all my bindings - which means pulling a weapon...
