A call for arms.

To the Folk of the Bastion,

My name is Darius Trollsbane Silver. I have been brought back to this land, and it seems that this is where I am meant to be. I know it is not the job of one man to save this place, it is the work of many, all working together. However, I will do everything in my power to ensure that this happens. The Bastion will stand.

That being said, I offer my services to whomever may need them. Commoner, champion, militiaman, whomever stands for the defense of this land.

I am a smith of no small skill, and will be spending whatever extra time I have in my forge creating weapons and armor to either arm the standing guard, or to sell to the local adventurers. Know that if you have need of armaments I will usually ask that you only pay me just beyond what I need to create the weapon, or suit of mail. Please feel free to contact me at my forge, or to leave a post here if you have need.

I am also a teacher. I am willing to devote free time to training whoever wishes to learn. I can teach how to save lives on the battlefield; either through the use of simple medical attention, or through the use of healing magics. I can also teach the basics of how one can battle their foes with the weapons of the Defender: the Shield, the Mace, and the Bow. I shall set aside time each day for whomever wishes to learn. Again, I care not who you are, as long as you wish to defend The Bastion.

Lastly, I stand in this land, and I shall protect it. If you have need of my strength, I offer you my skills to aid you in your plight.

Together we we have Hope. Together, we can do more than hope.

Would you be interested in serving as an officer under my supervision?

Primary responsibilities include: Protecting the harvest shipments from Eire, protecting refugees attempting to reach the Bastion, upholding the interests of The Harvest Lands throughout the Bastions as well as The Deadlands, which as you may know, extend throughout Laerthan.

To others who are interested, we are looking for people with diverse skills - individuals who can serve as rangers, healers, warriors, and even, when necessary, assassins. We are not looking for those with merely brut force martial skills.

Although, I believe that the Twice-born, who are primarily warriors, who also possess good judgment and strong moral character, may be in high demand as Bastion Guards. Please contact me if you feel you’ll be more suited for the first position. Please contact the Justicar if you would be interested in, and better suited for the latter duty. Please bear in mind; I do not speak on behalf of the Justicar with regard to the hiring of Bastion Guards. I know he is looking to deputize some worthy adventures for such positions. To the best of my knowledge, Bastion Guards would serve under the Justicar, and no other noble.

My position is that of an errant knight. I have sworn myself to serve under Queen Beah of Eire, and my oath has been tentatively recognized by her daughter who dwells here in the Bastion, Princess Arianne. My title and authority are still dependent on the word of the Queen, and given my affliction, I can understand if there is hesitance or rejection from The Crown.

It has been good to see you again since our last time together, in the strange land of Caldaria and Lindoll.. though the circumstances of our coming here have not been pleasant, there is something to be said for the company of fair friends and able warriors. There are a few matters I wish to discuss with you, once I have my own affairs tended to -- I will come to your forge and speak to you in a few days time, if you would allow it.

I also am able and willing to teach. Both skills at arms, and healing. For those who prefer the larger weapons, I can offer instruction in their use.

Goodman, your willingess to help does not go unnoticed. Join me in the Silver Scythe for a drink, or three! It seems we have much to discuss, and I for one prefer to discuss such things with a rather large mug in my hands.
