a new void shard

I debated reporting this only to the nobles, but it is common knowledge amongst a group of adventures so I figured the word would get out to everyone soon anyway. Add to this people should be aware of a danger coming. Some of you would remember the necromancer Emilio. I'll spare the details, but surfice it to say he is now a spectral liche with a shard of void. He opened a portal that he stated would be going to the Deadlands. I do not know where he would be appearing if it would follow the normal portal rules or not. He may or may not be traveling with a hobbling shadowmage. Be careful. See me or Amaranthus if you have any questions. I'm sorry I could not stop it. I tried to send a message ahead, but the magics would not let me.

A Warning to All,
The Biata male known to some from old Chiram's Hollow as Emilio Barenger has become a spectral litch, and carries with him a Viod Shard found in the Kindom of Icenia. He is accopanied by a hobbling shadow mage named Hadely Moonstream, the former ruler of the Hobbling city of Home on the continent of Tar Navaria. Hadley is the current leader of the Shadow Ring, a "high society" gentleman's club for necromancers. He had conciderable resources at his disposal in Icenia and how much of those resources he has in the Deadlands is unknown. It should be known that Hadely ALSO carries a Void Shard, and has learned to amplify his necromantic shadow magic with its power. That is how Emilio has become what he is now.

Make no mistake. Emilio has absolutly no moral direction. He CAN NOT be reasoned with. He acts as he does on whims and for his general amusement. He will not hesitate to do unimaginable damage to life and land if it suits his purpous or his immediate desires, with no regard to future concequences. This new form he has taken, that of a litch but spectral in nature with raw power flowing from where his feathers once where, comands a Void Shard, which he used to open aportal to the Deadlands. How much other of its power he understands is unknown.

This message should arrive shortly before I do, mists and earth willing, and I will share all that I know upon my arrival from Icenia.
May the winds always be at your back,
Amaranthus Landcharmer

Dear Sun and Amaranthus,

Obviously the news you bring is troubling, but thank you for giving us the forewarning. I don't suppose Emilio gave any reason as to why he was coming back here, did he? I know that these are the lands of his birth, but as far as I was aware he'd left them behind long ago and hadn't shown any inclination of coming back. To bring back someone who isn't even from these lands is even stranger. If either of you would be inclined to meet with me early this friday evening, then I would be most thankful to be told the tale in full.

With sincerity
Guildmistress Keely Quinn Brenna-Erinelanath

Amaranthus, Sun --

Walk safely, swiftly, and keep mindful company. Should you need me, only ask. I will be waiting at the Hollow Isle.

Emilio would need a void shard and a shadowmage hobbling to make up for his lack of competence. I remember him not being that sharp of a person. He tried to cover his face when he was hiding from the crimes of necromancy but neglected to cover his feathers. Let us just hope that the shard has not given him a boost in the brains department.

Sincerely,
Grand Master Healer Utieties Witmoore
Member of the Vanguard of the Crimson Storm.

Perhaps the shard seeks home, and it is the Liche that follows.

Say what you will about Emilio. When I was suffering from the Lempur Curse in Icenia he alway' stook up for me and would heal me no matter how many time' the thing would rip me apart with vengeance. Him becoming a Spectral-Lich and a Traitor is not a thing that could have been helped for how he was spit upon. He was cursed to be this thing from the day of his birth for all that he was helped or truly loved. I can see the hatred for necromancer' because I share it too, Hatred and an excuse to kill someone who was done wrong It is the only thing that Fortannis truly love'. I pity Emilio. What he really need' is gift of life ritual scroll' and a friend to help him come down off this thing that has been built underneath him. Why even start it with him and find out the sick thing' he can think to do worse than is already everywhere in the Deadland'? I bet you I could ask Emilio and he would deliver this Hadley Moonstream by the neck inside of a fist. We could have that freak thrown on his face in front of the Hobling Lord' of Home to face punishment for all of his crime', not just these latest one'!.

If I were him I would head back now to Chiram' Hollow. Why Wouldn't he? What is so insane about that? It is predictable.. a word that mean' stupid obvious? Just because you are turned into Undead doesn't mean that you MUST permanently die! Only Ogre' and some Elf' think that is true. Think about it. The Void shard' are very powerful. They hurt Fortannis. There are smarter way' to keep them from being used for evil. Emilio is not going to do any good if he is attacked or taunted in the dream-realm'. Why give him a reason to care? It is like the people who spit on him and used him to spy on the Dominion now want him to cause the ressurection' or permanent death' of innocent people with the Void Shard. Provoking such a thing is not wise politic'. Better effort' need to be made to stop the spread of this destruction, otherwise alot of people are going to die because there is no more place to grow normal food. That would be terrible for race' who are not prepared to get by living off what is left available. Hunger make' even Knight' and Noble'' into killer'. What if he get' another shard, and then another; would Icenia be next after Moria? What next Caldaria? I don't like this kind of plan.

We got to do better than this. I am not scared of Emilio; he was a good man who I would help come back from this if I were allowed to. Being Undead is like a disease that can be cured with earth ritual magic. It is not the end of the world. It make' you crazy and you use it as a crutch, it is terrible burning weakness. A walking coffin of false promise'. Emilio need' his life and breathe back to see that fact again clearly. I at least owe him that, he did the same for me, many time'.

Emilio is a madman. Deranged, and guided entierly by the moment. He cares only for that which is ammusing, and he relishes in the suffering of others. He has returned "home" for any number of reasons, but I know that amoung them is chaos and death. I saw first hand the horrors that Emilio is capable of in the Dominion Army. For whatever reason he has returned we may never know, but be on your guard. When he does come to town, and he will, he will come to cause pain and death.

Knowing Emilio he will come in the night, when there are few of us awake. He will come after a large battle, when we have not the resources to fight him. He will taunt us, he will probly kill someone. Then he will leave, lauging all the while.

I understand your feelings tword Emilio Rock. I truly do. I went on the same mission he did. I was ment to be an ally for him on that mission. It was nearly two years into the operation before I ran into him again. He was my commanding officer, and was casting necromancy again. He specailised in torture and delighted in causing his subjects, and his trainees like me, untold amounts of pain.

Any chance of redemption Emilio might have had he threw away when he accepted the powers of Void and became whatever it is now. No mear gift of life is going to fix him. Pitty all you want Rock. Be sad that the Emilio you once knew is no more, and be ready to face what he has become.
