This is Jane out at Watchtower Integrity, west of New Acarthia. Now that the snows have melted for awhile and we got us some warmer weather here, the monster tribes outta the Howling Woods have been restless. There have been a number of attacks on the town proper when the snows allow them through, and we don't always see a lot of that in the wintertime. What they want is clear: Dargok's freedom after he got himself caught finally last fall!
Be careful: We're seeing more activity than normal, and meaner than we've seen in a couple a' years, too.
The Town Guard got information about the big moot we were aware was going on inside the Woods at a place called Six Rocks last November. Seems that was to discuss some sort of contest among the monster tribes to see who will sit at the right hand of Dargok... or maybe stand in for him now that he's rotting in a dungeon somewheres, I guess. The tribes are calling this role the "Vysen," and it sounds like it's some kind of general or war commander of a type. All through this year until something called the "Hunters Moon," the tribes are going to compete to impress each other. Maybe some will fight, and some will try to trick us, some will steal our things, and maybe some of them that are smart will try to strike small treaties with their tribes or something. We heard it's pretty much up for grabs. Whichever one of them manages to get the most respect among the other monsters wins the day, I suppose.
