The Southern Minnesota Alliance LARP August 18-20 Weekend Event is a special Guest Plot Team event! This means that a group of non-staff players are stepping up to run an event while the ordinary staff gets to step back and PC! All of that said, here’s a bit of event-specific information you should know:
Who’s on the August Guest Plot Team anyway?
The Plot Team for this event is composed of Kyle Schmelz (GRONK/Liam/Briar), Carly Baehr (Squire Fiona/Dagmara), Kayla Stewart (Locke/Violet/Bethanne), and Josh Stewart (Roy/Lightning/Zen). (We all have a slight problem with alt-itis.)
Where is the in-game setting for this event?
The event is taking place in Southwestern Pratorak, northeast of Fort Gragg. Pratorak is one of Gaden’s closest allies, a nation of High Orcs and Stone Elves ruled over by the Monolithic Council. The Council has made a rare request for assistance from Gaden’s adventurers to deal with a magical anomaly in the area.
Wondering why the event is taking place there? In-game information as to why the adventurers are traveling has been posted in the in-game forums, so if your character doesn’t know, maybe check that out!
Are production workshops going to be available for use this event?
Pre-existing workshops may be used for production skills at Logistics on Friday night (representing your character using the workshop before heading out to Pratorak), but will not be automatically available for use at Logistics on Saturday. Of course, if you purchase or otherwise gain access to a workshop at the camp during the event, you are more than welcome to use that for Logistics on Saturday.
How will IBGAs work for this event?
Any IBGAs related to the Guest Plot event should be sent to SoMN2017BESTPlot@gmail.com before the deadline of Monday, August 14th at 11:59 PM! We cannot guarantee responses to IBGAs sent past that point, so make sure you get yours sent in before the deadline! You might not have ideas for a guest plot IBGA at the moment, but more information on things you might want to look into will start to appear over the next few weeks, so keep an eye on the forums!
We understand this timeframe overlaps a bit with the Castle Event IBGAs - see this thread if you’re not sure what I’m talking about. Players can still submit IBGAs to all three IBGA rounds in addition to doing IBGAs for the Guest Plot event! Keep in mind that your characters can’t be in more than one place at once, so don’t tell us that you’re character is going to spend two months prepping in Pratorak while also telling the main plot team that they’re off looking for Architect Power Sources.
