Wouldn't Terin letting Ren use the axe in battle be viewed by the Badgers as some sort of symbolic gesture? If his right to lead comes from having the axe wouldn't Ren be leading the tribe during the battle if he held the axe? It's a cool story so far, have you though about incorporating Dryads in some way?

Yes, that could be true indeed. Apparently Terin hasn't thought that out too well yet, has he?

No dryads in this book. As you may note, these books do not follow Alliance rules perfectly. There's no earth school and celestial school, and no stone elves or MWEs or other races (yet). The goal is to write books that nonAlliance players can read and enjoy, and if I stick too closely to our rules or try to throw in too many new things into the mix it would distract from the basic story. The story is king!
