Calimacil weapons?

I glanced through the rule book a couple years back and noted that Latex and specialty foam such as calimacil had been all but banned from Alliance games.

This has dissuaded me from attending or participating, however I heard recently that you have laxed the ban on such weapons. I am curious about the official rulings now, and how that effects the player.

I did a quick search on here and the best i could find was some rulings on latex throwables but nothing on Calimacil specifically or larger weapons.

Can anyone clue me in?

All Latex weapons are now officially judged on a case by case basis. With advances in latex weaponry the vast majority pass now a days. Calimacil from what I heard often take some 'wearing in' before they'll pass as they tend to be harder than most.

Awesome, Do you know what means* people use for breaking them in?

Just general flexing of the foam/striking edges to help reduce the stiffness, please avoid striking family members or pets.

I use LARP as a way to teach, and it is amazing, the kids are very receptive to it.
