Citizens of the Ternian Empire

For those who can call the great Ternian Empire their home, we soon mark a momentous occasion. In ten days' time, the last of the eubalist orbs shall be at last placed upon the Wall surrounding our glorious Empire, as a symbol of what we, its sons and daughters, can achieve when we dedicate ourselves to a common purpose.

Let our unity be our strength: though Ternia's children may often be scattered across the face of the continent, let us all return for this one night, and recall that Ternia is our home, where our hearts shall eternally draw us back, however far we may roam. As each Orb shall shine over the Empire like a crimson star, each of us shall shine as a single point of light in Ternia's galaxy of people: never brighter than when among our fellows.

Let this day mark the beginning of a new era of peace and prosperity for the Empire, a day when each of us feels the song of the love we all share for Ternia echo within our souls. This harmony shall bring us all together to at last realize our dream for ourselves: an Empire where every citizen, from the farmers laboring in the fields to the Emperor Himself, is a true comrade to every other; and no person is without a family with whom to share his joys and burdens.

For my citizens who have wandered far from our borders, if ever your daydreams have turned to thoughts of your true home, and for a moment you wondered why it was that you ventured so far from your family: let now be your time to make the long journey home.

--High Chancellor Lucretia Serranus

In three weeks' time, by the light of the eubalist orbs, Terna shall ring in a new year. In the spirit of true friendship, I invite the allies of our glorious Empire to join in our celebration at the Wall, on the final day of this month, the Eve of our new beginning.

--High Chancellor Lucretia Serranus

[At the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve, a bright red light can be seen on the horizon to the east of Wayside. The light spreads quickly to the north and south, forming a line of color along the border; then just as quickly it disappears, leaving a single spot like a red star hanging low in the sky.]
