CLEAN UP DAY - Claremont NH - August 16th - 11:00 AM

Greetings All,

We will be having a clean up day on Saturday August 16th at 11:00am until whenever Brian and Deb kick us out. This is the saturday that the August Deadlands event would have been, so you should all still have the time off from your real lives to come help us out.

Here's what you need to know:

- Do not show up before 11 am unless the owners of the land, (Deb and Brian), specifically tell you it's okay to do so.
- Bring good work clothes, good work gloves and good boots. We will primarily be cleaning the land of sticks and twigs and such and there may be ticks and or bugs that will want to crawl on you. Please bear this in mind and dress accordingly.
- Please bring water and snacks if need be. We will most likely all be going out afterwards to eat and laugh together. There are convenience stores near by.
- Bring hand tools if you have them, trash bags if you can donate them and skills if you're willing to share them.

**WE WILL ONLY BE ALLOWING CERTAIN PEOPLE TO USE POWER TOOLS. THIS IS A NECESSITY FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES. I know we've joked on the boards about Chainsaws, but in all seriousness, there will be no use of chainsaws or the like by those not assigned to do so once we're there.**

Some of what we will be doing:

- The addition previously built onto the Tavern will need to have it's roof tarped
- The old Fighters guild will either need to be demolished in full or at minimum, the roof and floors need to come down. This building will most likely not be usable at the September event.
- The trails and surround woods need to be walked and cleared of all loose debris. Sticks, tree trunks, rocks etc.
- All remaining buildings need to be swept out and cleaned up
- NPC camp needs to be cleaned and organized for the use of NPC camp and Logistics
- IG and OOG tenting areas need to be cleared of debris
- Overall we will be cleaning the site and making it safe.

When people arrive the Alliance NH staff will coordinate groups of people to perform specific tasks.

I understand that this will be a great chance for people to get together and remember the old days of fun at this site and educate those who haven't been there before, but bear and mind that we have only this one day to make the site safe and usable for the upcoming event. It is very important that those who show up, are coming prepared to work.

Gobbies will be assigned based on work performed. Anyone who goes above and beyond what is asked of them, may get an extra bonus.

Directions to the site will be coming soon.

Lastly,

For those who don't know and those who do, this site is owned by Brian and Deb. It is not a campsite, it is their home and their personal land. They have gracioulsy offered to host one of our events at their home and they have our sincerest gratitude for such an offer. I expect everyone who shows up for the clean up day and for the event, to treat their home with the utmost respect that it deserves.

If you have any questions, feel free to post here.

Directions to the site are coming very soon.

Thank you all in advance,

~Jaimi

You can GoogleMaps or Mapquest this address:

47 Ellis Lane
Claremont NH 03743

Where it says turn onto Ellis Lane, it may be incorrect. The site is at the end of the road, which looks more like a driveway. There will be a two-story, bright yellow farmhouse on your left if you are going up the correct driveway.

You're welcome.

I should be more clear: the directions may say "turn left onto Ellis Lane" or "turn right," but the location the have for 47 is a little off.

i dont think i going to be able to make it to the clean up day as much as i want to help, so i was thinking mabey i could send a donation to help with the cost of supplies or snakies

Yeah the site is kind of a mess. I took this photo when we were up there in April. It is all that is left of the fighter's guild.

No big deal though, right?

Yea! That is the worst of it . The other buildings made it through the winter just fine. They just need a little tlc (sweeping up and such) Everyone can thank Emily and Brian for taking care of the Bees. Emily and I removed the insulation from Dougs cabin so that you can breath now. Sorry Doug the critters liked your insulation. And then there is the tree. Randy removed the limbs and we (Brian and I ) will be working on that this weekend. ( Don't worry Gary we will leave some for you) So be prepared to stack wood it should burn nicely in the tavern along with what is picked up from the trails.

HAAAAAAhahahaha! The picture is awesome. It looks like a hand grenade went off. Yeah, don't worry, everybody. My step-father and I, along with all the others who are coming up, will take that thing apart in no time.

I'm pretty sure I blew up the Fighters guild once as a group of angry orc grenadiers with lots of explosive traps. Ah, good times.

I was, in fact, JUST thinking of that encounter. And now everyone has a visual effect to go along with that awesome moment.

Aaaah, orcs with bombs. What could be better?

Orcs with bombs and unshatterable polearms.

Btw: The fighter's guild building in particular is all cleaned out. I just wanted to let everyone know. Jaimi and I will be putting a temp roof on it before the September event. After all was said and done, the main structure was completely sound. We just needed to get all the crap out and sweep it.

Thanks!

Gary
