Hey guys and gals,
It's been bugging me for a while that there is no separate board for people to post costuming/prop questions, bragging, or sharing designs. This is mostly because I like my information nicely sorted into piles (my computer files are sorted like this Geeky Stuff>LARP>Costuming/Props>Costume Patterns). Anyways, I was wondering what others thought of adding a costuming/prop forum to the Out-of-Game area?

I'm surprised there isn't one already. Because so many costuming and prop skills span races and chapters and sections, I'd love to see a general OOG board for it.

while I would find it interesting to see such a discussion I am not as off the hook enthusiastic as some might be. I like my props...I mean quality props (utility) and costume (utility + aesthetics) as well as makeup (utility + aesthetics) but I am not sure I would come here for a first glance or a second glance. So sure...go for it, but I am not holding my breath on the results.

Let's do it. No reason not to. Even if no one ends up using it, it's not like adding a forum costs us anything.
Some people might use it, and find it helpful.

voted... thanks Em...

For some reason I can't vote. Even though I am over-inundated with forums on this board right now (as an owner, you have a dozen additional forums), I think a prop and costume board is a great idea. It seems so obvious that there should be one in hindsight.

Make it sew.

JP, I approve of your sewing pun! (they happen very often in my office... I work for a quilt pattern company)

Personally, I have spent hours, days, maybe even WEEKS researching new fun patterning ideas both fantasy based and historical based. I have done research that has upended awesome "new" ideas for costuming such as the London Hood, and a neat .PDF of some periodic Clothing (patterns included) ranging from byzantine to 1700's or so. I also have some fun latex, pvc, and other prop design hints and tips I've picked up anywhere from latex mask makers to vivarium forums. I'd love to share some of it (and have on the NERO boards) but think it'd get lost in the massive amounts of posts here currently (sans costuming/prop forum).

I was going to needle JP about his horrible pun, but I just decided to say "darn it" instead.

So I've been reading these jokes in hopes one would make me laugh, unfortunately after reviewing whats there so far, no pun in ten did

Sorry for my lack of added puns...

But I think this is a really great idea. Can someone with the administrative rights to do so make this happen? I know I would really appreciate finding such information all in one place, and would be able to contribute some from my limited experience as well

Would someone with admin powers at least acknowledge that there are at least 30 people who would like to see this put into action? A "yes, we're in the process" or "we're thinking about it" or "no, we're not going to put this up" would be nice. That's only counting the people who bothered to read this post too!
