Oi, Atupal folk:
I’m Winny, foreman of the Allgood Excavators. Queen Pavia hired us to help facilitate further excavation and exploration underground on Atupal.
But hold on, I know what you’re thinkin’: “Oh nooooo, it’s too dangerous! These grubby dwarves are gonna just go smashin’ down walls diggin’ for treasure and settin’ off the ancient contraptions that’ll blow up the island and kill us aaaaaaaaaallllllllllll!”
We ain’t some two-copper strip miners - we’re the Allgood Excavators. Myself, Wally, Whitney, Wanda, the other Wanda, Wesley, and the rest of the family, we’re professionals, the top of the line, the best of the best. We’re the team that was always called in by Roy himself when he needed somethin’ dug. We’re the team that he hired to dig into Atupal with him when it was discovered. Some of us were even there when the place went to Prademar and back! We know the risks. We know that this island has got some serious weirdness below the surface, and we know what to do and what not to do.
We ain’t doin’ this ‘cause we’re huntin’ for treasure or minerals or nothin’. We ain’t even really doin’ this because the Queen’s payin’ us. We’re doin’ this for Roy! That wonderful little man is practically family, and we’re here to finish what he started ‘cause he can’t do it himself. He wanted to know what was hidden down there, and by golly, we’re gonna find out.
Thing is, we’re excavators, not dauntless heroes or whatever y’all are. We can open the pathways to explore, but dealin’ with what we find, that’s on y’all. When we hit hurdles we can’t overcome or open up places we need you to check out, we’ll let you know. After all, you live there, not us. All good? All good.
Speakin’ of which, we cleared up a lot of the existin’ passages for easier travel, but as we tried to go deeper, we found there’s some weird gas leaking into the northeast passage of level four. Looks like it’s been doin’ it for a while. We think we can clear out the bulk of the gas over the next few days and get ready to open up level five, but we’d like some company down there as we break in, just in case there’s monsters or whatever down there. If we can deal with it on the first night y’all get together, we should be able to get a clear tunnel to more chambers by the next mornin'.
