Victoria reads over the latest reports, one event in particular catching her eye. She goes back and reads it again, and smiles. She is not surprised by what she reads, it is consistent with what she herself has observed.

Victoria sets the reports aside and pulls a fresh sheet of parchment closer and begins writing. As she writes she makes a mental note to touch base with Boris soon as she hasn’t heard from him in several days.

Roaring into the courtyard, a dirty dwarf and his war dog come to a violent halt and head over to the stables. Jumping down off of Cavall, Boris turns to one of the stable hands. "Can you get him dried off and fed please? I need to get to the Duchess." And dropping all but his spirit locked weaponry and his shield, Boris rushes off into the castle.

Hurrying passed the attendants and guards of the castle, Boris quickly approaches the entrance to the Duchess's castle domain. Knocking, he awaits his summons.

The awaited summons arrives and Boris is shown to the Office where Victoria sits at her desk doing paperwork. She looks up as he enters.

Boris can be seen leaving the Duchess's office. He walks down the hallway a ways and turns into a small office with attached sleeping quarters. The dwarf finds a basin and jug of warm water waiting for him there, and quickly clans the travel dirt from his body. Feeling clean but tired, he climbs into the bed and promptly falls asleep.

A young guard approaches the closed door, he knocks and says “Captain Boris, Her Grace requests your presence.”

Bad news travels fast they say, and so it does indeed. Word of the violent destruction of the portal reached the Palace with great haste. The messenger that brought word had barely stopped speaking before the Grand Duchess began issuing orders. Mobilizing her staff to grab blankets, food and water along with other necessary supplies. Instructing all to head to the portal room with all haste, moving with them and giving further instructions as she walked.
