Scheduled:

Audition Day - Game Day - Sept 25th, noon to 4pm, Mt. Tabor Park - Stillrun - A new young Lord is holding auditions for positions in his council of advisers as he prepares to embark on a Quest to settle a new land and earn the rank of Knighthood. Applicants will be tested in matters of martial skill, battlefield command, diplomacy, tactical analysis, and creative problem solving. Come try out to earn one of the coveted positions that will help shape the direction of the new campaign, show up to help support your favorites, or place your bets for who will be given a seat at the council's table and bend the ear of the new Lord. Learn what nefarious forces might be trying to manipulate the outcome from afar! Or aid a local farmer in finding his scattered family so that when the day comes, he can earn his place in the new land as one of its founding community members. 3 modules are slated to be run, depending on interest and time allowed.

Landfall - Weekend Event - Oct 22-24, Brooks Memorial ELC - Landfall - From the far reaches of the mists, a new island has emerged which sailors have dubbed "The Golden Horn". Many ships have gone off to seek out what fortunes might be found, few have returned. Those that have speak either of a lush, unsettled land ripe for the taking, or dark ships in the distance and the sounds of chains and drums. The new young Lord tasked with this settlement heads forth to make a name for himself and his people, bolstered by tradesmen seeking to make a new home for themselves, a small armed force, and a mixed community of adventurers. If successful, he stands to become knighted to the highest authority of his homeland. If he fails, he loses not just a chance at title and honor, but the lives of friends and loved ones. Before any of that can begin, though, he must first make Landfall.

Interception at the Forty - Game Day - Dec 4, 10am to 4pm - "Joe's place" - The forests north of Landfall - The other exploration units have returned from the field with reports of possible friendly villages in the region, and increased Harkonnian activity. They've also brought back word of a large "shipment" being moved from further north to one of the Harkonnian "recruitment centers". Lord Gyr has commanded the rescue of the prisoners, and seeks your assistance. Will you answer his call?

Traders and Thieves - Weekend Event - Jan 28-30, Brooks Memorial ELC - Landfall - Recent military actions on the part of Lord Gyr's men, including those of the adventuring community, have led to the capture of a number of Harkonnian soldiers, while still three soldiers from the community of Landfall are still missing. Diplomatic envoys to the Harkonnians have suggested that perhaps an exchange of prisoners might be in order.

Everyone's Gone Nutty! - Weekend Event - March 18-20, Brooks Memorial ELC - Landfall - Without explanation, Mosby's pecan grove has exploded into full growth and bloom, with what appears to be an amazing bumper crop ripe for the picking! Visiting notables from merchant houses back home have arrived in the hopes of purchasing some of the amazing nuts, perhaps to produce their own off-season-blooming groves. Rumors abound: is it a natural reflex of the Earth's energies in response to recent necromantic in-flow, or does the soil contain some inherent mystical property that promotes growth? Could this be the source of the local arthropods' peculiarities? In other news, Lord Gyr's aunt and former guardian is in town to visit and see as to how her nephew is coming along in his quest.

A Friend In Need - Weekend Event - June 10-12, Scouter's Mountain/Cub World - Dùnùirdan - While shipments from Taneryn appear to have returned to normal, the stalwarts of Landfall have received word from their new friends to the north that the Tythonians wreaked havoc across the entire land of the Golden Horn, including damaging the gates of Dùnùirdan, first line of defense for the dwarven kingdom called "Shukhar". Lord Gyr has ordered members of his council to lead the efforts to help their new friends in the hopes of cementing more permanent relations.

Eviction Notice - Game Day - August 21, Noble Woods Park - The Chakar Mountains - The dwarves of the Chakar Stronghold have had enough of the Harkonnians knocking on their doors. With the successful reconstruction of the doors to the Stronghold, and solidifying ties with the community of Landfall, they now take the fight to the hornheads and work to throw them out of the mountains on the northern tip of the Golden Horn. Join us for a battleday as either your character or as an NPC (or swap between them!) and play in this small-scale representation of a larger battle!

Winds of Change: Return to the Vault - Game Day - September 18th, Scouter's Mountain/Fort Courage - The Dùnùirdan Vault - The adventurers return to the Vault near Dùnùirdan in search of answers and further clues concerning recent developments on the part of the Harkonnians. Join us as we dive once more into The Vault, a labyrinthine maze of chambers and corridors holding experiments once conceived and designed by the Illithid to hold out and hopefully defeat the Tythonians!

Market Days - Weekend Event - October 14-16, Brooks Memorial ELC - Landfall - A full year has passed since Lord Gyr came aboard the Emerald Rose across the seas from Taneryn with a ragtag band of adventurers and farmers and made Landfall, a shining jewel of resistance against the necromancer Harkonnian slavers. Through trial and tribulation, they've stood strong and served as a source of freedom and security for all passersby. Lord Gyr would like to invite all free peoples to join the community of Landfall in a weekend of celebration! In conjunction with this holiday, the Caravan of Wonders will hold an auction of rare, curious, and/or powerful items! Come, rejoice and celebrate in this acknowledgement of the works and efforts of a community of people who have built a home for themselves and for you!

A Hard Winter's Night - Weekend event - Dec 9-11, Brooks Memorial ELC - Landfall - The cold of winter's embrace has finally set in - cold, harsh, unyielding. And now, as night falls, something lurks in the shadows. Something is not quite right here... something needs to be solved. Join us as more of the history of the Golden Horn is revealed, presenting new exciting opportunities and challenges for the future.

Shadows of Tynera - Game Day - February 11 - Mt Tabor State Park - prologue in Landfall, the rest in or around Tynera - At Lord Gyr's behest, members of the adventuring community travel to the region north of Boca Dracon, where the township of Tynera is thought to have existed, and the reptilian Squamata are thought to have made their home. There is a need for new allies, and recent events (past events?) have provided a possible in-roads with the green-scaled people that dwell between Landfall and the northern Kingdom of the Chakar.

The Green Mile - Weekend event - March 2-4, Camp Kiwanilong, Warrenton OR - Koriilholm - At the command of Lord Gyr, the adventurers are led by Sir Iftikhaar to infiltrate a Harkonnian slave camp with the hope of locating and freeing two Squamata tribal leaders. The end goal is to free the twin tribes from Harkonnian rule and opression. War is at hand and the people of Landfall need all the allies they can get. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to infiltrate the slave camp under the guise of having been captured by the Squamata and offered up as tribute to the Harkonnians, locate and secure the children, then wipe out the Harkonnian guards. Two things will work in your favor - enslaved prisoners are allowed the freedom to roam around armed as usual, since enslaved people never pose much of a threat, and they don't know you're coming. The Landfall adventurers have a cache of enslavement antidotes, but the question remains - who is only a slave by force, and who is a slave by birth?

War Council - Game Day - March 24, Battleground State Park, Battleground WA - The Wylde - War is on the forefront, and it is imperative that the communities of the Golden Horn that wish to overthrow the yoke of the Harkonnian Empire be organized and ready to fight as one. But old enmities can die hard, and distrust is an easy seed to sow. Join us for an exploration in diplomacy and politics, when forces from around the island send forth their emissary to hammer out a truce and commitment to shout as one voice, and strike as one sword, against the tyranny of those that seek to oppress not just your bodies, but your very minds.

Blood, Sweat and Fears - 3-day weekend event - May 4-7 - Camp Shepphard Enumclaw, WA - (TBA) - The people of the Golden Horn have begun to organize their people into something resembling an army. Cut off from his Emperor, pressed to justify his continued leadership, Commander Zabim stands at the foot of the Stone Claw Mountains, set to sweep over the northern end of the Golden Horn with waves of undead, enslaved loved ones, and row upon row of hornheads. They say the Emperor bleeds for them. Are they, in turn, willing to die for him?

Tentative: (as in: "subject to change")

Re: Event Schedule For Oct 2010 - Oct 2011

Location for gameday is determined, however, I need a couple of volunteers to help with location prep, mainly helping Joe clean up the yard beforehand. (Now that I think about it, Joe, you didn't specify if you wanted folks the day before, or earlier in the morning.) There are bonus gobbies in it for people that help out! Post here, or contact Joe for details.

Directions:

Take Highway 26 West until the Highway 6/Banks/Tillamook Exit, take the Banks/Tillamook exit from the left lane. Continue on Highway 6 past Banks and continue up and over the hill. When you reach the bottom of the hill, you will see a large wooden sign on the left hand side.

Take the next driveway on the left, ~1/3 mile past the sign-the driveway will be marked with streamers or a sign or some such thing. Slow down and signal well before the driveway, there have been frequent accidents on this stretch of highway when making turns.
If you reach the pond or a gas station, you've gone slightly too far.

Game day and event descriptions updated!

For those interested, we will be camping out at Battleground State Park the night before the game day (the 23rd), and PCs and NPCs are welcome to join us for some totally-OOG fireside chatter and comradery. We will be cleaning up our camp gear at 9am, and Logistics should start at 10am. The game day is set to close by 7pm at the latest.

There are four three-wall adirondacks, space for 8 four-person tents, and a covered pavilion with three picnic tables.

So come on out! If you're feeling extra energetic and one day of LARP madness just won't satisfy, join Holly, Adam, and some of the others in a BuildQuest, and drive up for the Seattle game day on Sunday!

Is there a map or directions to Battleground State Park?

Thanks for posting that, Matt.
