With game on in just 48 hours, its time for some last minute reminders about our site and the event! First and most important, there is a proper cold front moving in towards our site right now with nighttime temps dropping as low as 14 degrees, so please pack for the cold! Here are some tips to stay toasty:
1) As with almost anything else, stay hydrated! Dehydration generally makes everything worse
2) pack extra changes of socks. Being able to change your socks a couple times a day in cold, wet weather is near essential to staying warm and keeping all your piggies.
3) Wear layers! multiple layers of clothing allow you to add and remove pieces to regulate your temperature throughout the day. Wearing layers of modern technical materials underneath your genre outfits is a good way to go about it.
4) Hot hands to put in your gloves are a really cozy luxury to enjoy if you're planning to be outside for an extended amount of time.
5) Wear shoes with a good tread and good insulation (even if it means being slightly less genre). We might see some precipitation causing hills around site to be slippery and don't want anyone falling over.
6) Cabins are heated, so you shouldn't need to worry too much about insulated bedding, but if you are planning to camp, make sure to bring a good insulating ground layer, a cold weather sleeping bag, and warm pajamas. If you were planning to tent and change your mind, we have plenty of cabin space so don't be afraid to come in from the cold!
Our site is Site Sky High Ranch, located at 30924 N State Highway 67, Woodland Park, CO, 80863. Please make sure to avoid route 76 on your southbound commute for an easier drive. Players are welcome on-site at 5pm.
If you plan to bring your own food or snacks, please plan on storing all food items in the tavern - fridge space will be restricted to staff meal plan, so please bring a cooler for any cold goods. There WILL be a microwave available! The available cabin sites are in the Lucky Circle and Greenwood cabin areas - the two cabins designated for NPCs will be clearly marked on their doors. There are no assigned bunks, so please feel free to stake out a claim when you arrive. Please be accommodating to other players who may wish to stay in your cabin and do not spread out onto multiple bunks until it is clear they will be available.
That should be all for now! Please review our last pair of blogs at https://www.alliancelarp.co/blog/ if you want more information, or ask any questions right here on discord.
Can't wait to see you all soon,
Katie
