Relevant text from the 2.1 packet: "The first Crafting Batch created for a given Crafting Skill each Logistics Period receives a Toolkit bonus at no cost."

Question: does this free bonus require the crafter to spend a toolkit charge, just without paying the gold? or does it just pay for the first batch as if you had used a toolkit charge?

The bonus to the first batch does not require either a toolkit charge or a coin cost.
