The way forum access works has now changed. If you need access to a private forum go to the User Control Panel (the 'user cp' button in the upper right corner) and then click on 'User Groups'. From there you can apply to join the user groups you think you should have access to. Your access to those forums will be granted or denied by the group leader listed.
If you are the leader of a private forum the option to allow or deny users access to your forum will also be in the User Groups section. You will have the ability to approve or deny all requests to join your forum with a few clicks (and not have to go through me anymore).
