Halloween Reminders

For those who are new or may have forgotten, there are two in-game traditions that are very important in Laerthan:

It is well-documented that when the veil between Laerthan and the Realm of the Dead becomes thin on All Horrors Eve, the power of wards and circles of power wane. Undead of all kinds are generally able to penetrate such protections during the three dark eves of this event. Hollowed-out pumpkins carved with horrific faces and lit with a candle function as protection against the undead in the absence of the usual spells. Please use an orange glow-stick to represent your candle -- no open flames!

The goblin tribes of Laerthan celebrate a three-day-long holiday during the thinning of the veil called "Tricks or Treats." During this time the green-skins travel from village to village with tiny bags, imploring any they meet for delicious snacks or shiny objects. Kind folk who appease the goblins may find themselves granted a kindness or even a magical boon, while those who refuse or harm the goblins are more likely to experience pranks, humiliation, or gang violence. If you plan to bring candy to the event, please make sure that it is not anachronistic -- there are plenty of taffies, cinnamon jawbreakers, etc. that come in plain, clear wrappers. No fun size Reese's or Snickers, please!

Hmm... note to self: get some stuff at the local candy store.

Second note to self: try not to eat it on the way to the event.
