Hello I"m new!

Hello there everyone! My name is Aidan and I am brand new to to LARP community! I just had a few questions and was hoping maybe to get a little guidance. I do want to start off as an NPC just so I can start to learn and watch how you guys all do it! For that do I just need to sign up and pay for my registration and I do know that I play some sort of role in the game. I was just hoping for a little guidance on what I should do to get everything started and fulfill my dream of becoming a great swordsman! Thank you all for any advice and I'm very sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place or format. Cheers!!!

Welcome to Alliance! We have a pretty active Facebook group here in Denver (more active than the forums here), where the community is happy to answer questions https://www.facebook.com/groups/alliancedenver/. As fa as getting started, we just went through a pretty major rules change, and the new beta rulebook and players guide can be found here: https://alliancelarp.com/forum/threads/rule-book-and-players-guide-beta.39793/. Reading through the rulebook is a pretty good place to start, however to start off you'll need to create an account and register at https://alliancedb.herokuapp.com/. In Denver, NPCs play for free, and only need to pay for the yearly membership (After your first game). Once you create an account there, you can view and register as an NPC for upcoming events through that application. NPCs get to play a variety of roles, and try out a variety of different fighting styles through the course of play, so it's a great way to experience the game and learn what you like and don't.

Welcome, Aidan! We all look forward to meeting you soon!

Just so you know, the site we're using for July only has no power available in its cabins (although there is power in the bathrooms, and the main building there); you may wish to bring a lightsource for your bedside.

For NPCing, plan to bring at least one set of basic black pants and shirt as the basis for other costumes. In a hot event like July, of course a couple black shirts are not a bad idea if you've got them.

See you soon,
Trace Moriarty
