Holding weapons by the handle

I'm pretty sure i've read this somewhere either on the boards or in the book but can't find it so I'll toss this out there and see if someone can help me out.

Where is the rule which states that a weapon must be wielded by its proper handle?

Pg 81: Weapons with cores may only ever be wielded by the grip.
(Pg 96 also states: If you are holding a weapon in a way that is not allowed by the skill, you will take the damage. but Staff is the only skill I see that dictates an explicit gripping area. Doh!)
