How is LARP different here?

Hello from Germany!
i was visiting this forum on accident - but after i read something i just want to know how our LARP in germany is different then yours.
especially i was never on a foreign convention.

But after i saw this big rulebooks you have here, im a bit... stunned about this.
 
If you are interested in the discussion still it would be helpful if you could tell us what systems you have played with in Germany so some one with the time or knowledge could give you a practical comparison. Otherwise feel free to describe your experiences. For the most part I can tell you this, this game is not convention based. That is to say we run a number of small to tiny games (40-100 people with some outliers) and play a system that is very character based with the expectation that characters will remain and grow for many years if not decades. This means that no all characters are even remotely on the same level, and nor are all challenges.

As for the level of RP, Scripting, and effects they vary greatly, to much so for me to want to comment on in a brief manner.
