HQ REWARDS SYSTEMS

Below you will find our 3 predominant systems for rewarding your time, effort, and money. Your volunteerism is a critical part of our chapter and we want to make sure you are compensated for every minute of it. You will see all of the rules for the LCO Magic Item system, the Gifts of the Land program, and the Plot Points System.

Please note that all three of these processes are continuously under review and may be adjusted, updated, or removed at any time at the sole discretion of HQ Staff.

LCO Scroll, Component, and Magic Item System

Below are the LCO Scrolls, Components, and Magic Items available for purchase via Goblin Stamps.

The following restrictions apply:
● NPCing a full event awards you 2 picks
● NPCing a minimum of 4 hours during an event you paid to attend awards you 1 pick.
● Being the Principal Writer of the Event awards you 1 pick.
● Being the Principal Director of the Event awards you 1 pick.
● Additional picks may be awarded at the discretion of the Head of Plot, General Manager, or Owner.
● You must have enough Goblin Stamps (GS) to afford the pick(s) at the time of selection.
● Picks may be carried over to the next event, but once any picks are spent, unused picks are lost.
● An individual pick may be used for Scrolls OR Components OR Magic items.
● LCO scrolls and components will be clearly marked as such.
● Using a single LCO scroll or component renders the entire item/effect LCO.
● LCO scrolls must be cast in-game the same as any scroll.
● LCO Catalysts may only be purchased for scrolls on the LCO Scroll list.
● Player may “turn in” a magic item rep of choice (new or recycled) to be used for their item. If they choose not to, a rep will be selected for them randomly.
● A single LCO Wand may be both Greater and Enhanced.
● LCO Magic Items are more expensive than their component LCO Scrolls. This is intentional. There is no chance of failure, and no inclusion of other PCs.
● LCO Magic items cannot get the highest levels of power. This is intentional.

Note: All requests for magic items must be received by HQ Management (ashburygm@gmail.com) at least 2 weeks prior to any event. Requests passed the deadline are not guaranteed to be filled.

Gifts of the Land

“They say the Land of Tar Navarria is a magical place. Yes, the very land itself is steeped in ancient magicks, the secrets of its control lost to the ages. A power beyond harnessing, there are some that the Land itself chooses... some are great heroes of renown, some are powerful nobles who speak with the authority of the Land itself, and some there are no rhyme or reason for- does the Land maybe know something about them we don’t?”

The below packages are intended to give players that contribute to the campaign another outlet for spending their Goblin Stamps. This Gifts of the Land system is based upon the Alliance Crossroads “Gryphon Gift Packages” system. All credit for the concept goes to those talented folks, and stolen with their permission. Gifts of the Land Packages are listed in alphabetical order.

Please note the following:
● Effects come within packages and may not be traded or exchanged in any fashion
● Each package is stand-alone: no substitutions of effects is allowed
● Gifts of the Land are valid for the entirety of the event in which they are purchased, and do not travel through the mists
● Gifts of the Land remain on the spirit through resurrection
● Only 1000 GS worth of Gifts of the Land Packages may be purchased per player, per event
● Knight will receive a “free” 100 GS spendable towards Gifts of the Land only per event, but may still not exceed the 1000 GS limit.
● Barons will receive a “free” 250 GS spendable towards Gifts of the Land only per event, but may still not exceed the 1000 GS limit.
● Players may only purchase one package within each category per event
● Multiple packages in different categories may be purchased until a player hits their 1000 GS limit
● Gifts of the Land packages may only be purchased through pre-logisting or on Friday night
● Gifts of the Land packages may only be used by the purchasing player
● All effects are on the player’s spirit – NOT a weapon or item, in order to prevent theft or transfer between players

Note: All requests for Gifts of the Land must be received by HQ Logistics (ashburylog@gmail.com) at least 2 weeks prior to any event. Requests passed the deadline are not guaranteed to be filled.

Plot Points System

“Some people are only active when someone’s watching. Those kind of people are easy to keep track of. Then, there are the sneaky ones, the schemers, the busy bodies, and the people that just don’t seem to quit. Even when they’re not around, they’re working on something.”

The concept behind the Plot Point System is to reward characters for the behind-the-scenes actions of players, much like the current goblin stamp system. The difference is that Plot Points allow players to focus those rewards on story gains, not on magic items.

As of this release, we will be once again enforcing the Plot Writeup Guidelines. Specifically:
• During the season (April - October) players may submit one action in-between events.
• Number of actions for the offseason (November-March) will be announced at the end of the season.

However, fear not! Those who help us tell a better story will, in fact,be rewarded with more opportunities to interact with their story!

The following restrictions apply:
• NPCing a full event awards you 2 Plot Points.
• NPCing a minimum of 4 hours during an event you paid to attend awards you 1 Plot Point.
• Playing a “Major Named Role” (either NPCing or hopping fence) awards you 1 Plot Point.
• Being the Principal Writer of the Event awards you 1 Plot Point.
• Being the Principal Director of the Event awards you 1 Plot Point..
• Being the Principal Monster Desk Jockey awards you 1 Plot Point.
• Additional Plot Points may be awarded at the discretion of the Head of Plot or Assistant Head of Plot.

Note: All requests for Plot Points must be received by HQ Plot (allianceplot@gmail.com) at least 2 weeks prior to any event. Requests passed the deadline are not guaranteed to be filled.

Plot points may be spent in the following ways:
• Adding an additional action during a plot writeup. (1 Point per action.)
• “Enhancing” your plot writeup’s chances. Basically, burning “good karma” you’ve built up with the plot gods to attempt to achieve a better result. (However many points you wish to spend.) Example: Billy is hoping his character, Derg Stonebeard, can get an audience with King Kelanor. Old King Kelanor doesn’t know Derg from a hole in the ground, so Billy spends 4 Plot Points to help his chances of success. Oddly enough, fortune smiles on Derg, and he winds up buying a few rounds in the tavern for Hroth Cragfist, who just happens to be one of Kelanor’s Guard and might be able to get him in to see the Old King.... Note no amount of expenditure guarantees success. However, no amount of expenditure hurts your chances either!
• Acquiring a "Lost Tome" with information regarding a specific subject. (4 Plot Points)
• Establishing a "Connection" within an organization. (4 Plot Points)
• Consulting a "Lost Tome." (2 Plot Points)
• Getting ahold of an established "Connection." (2 Plot Points)
• Forwarding racial/personal plot outside of events- basically, assuming your character has been spending time taking tests, passing trials, or doing legwork. (3 Plot Points) Note this does not guarantee success- you cannot simply say “here’s 40 Plot Points, I want to be a Knight!”
• Purchase a mod for you or your group- this requires contacting Plot a minimum of 2 weeks prior to an event. (6 Plot Points)

What is a “Connection?”
A Connection is an friend, informant, or otherwise contact within an organization. You may attempt to establish any Connection you want- but you may not succeed. If Plot decides it is not believable for you to be able to make the Connection now, your Plot Points remain unspent. Connections must be very specific: Hroth Cragfist in Kelanor’s Guard, Elendrel Whispering Bough of the Amani Rangers, Sgt Dask Millerson in the Brittington Irregulars, etc. You may have an unlimited number of Connections.
Once you officially have a Connection, you may attempt to get insider information from them during writeups for 2 Plot Points (keep in mind if that’s a second action, you will also need to spend one Plot Point to get the follow up action as well). Sometimes, Connections don’t know anything more valuable than anyone else. Sometimes, however, they might hold some pivotal information.

What is a “Lost Tome”?
A Lost Tome is an expert work of knowledge on a subject, which can be consulted between events (assume the Tome is so old and frail that to bring it to events would risk it’s destruction). You may attempt to find a Lost Tome on any subject you want- but you may not succeed. If Plot decides it is not believable for that information to be recorded in a Lost Tome, your Plot Points remain unspent. Lost Tomes must be very specific: Culanni Culture, The Complete History of Trellheim, The Illustrated Record of Icenian Royalty, etc. You may have an unlimited number of Lost Tomes.
Once you officially have a Lost Tome, you may attempt to do research in your Lost Tome during writeups for 2 Plot Points (keep in mind if that’s a second action, you will also need to spend one Plot Point to get the follow up action as well). Sometimes, researching in Lost Tomes will offer nothing more than what you already know. Sometimes, however, they might hold some pivotal information.
