June 27th Event Favorites!

Starting the thread so the grading thread can talk about the technical aspects of the game, and this thread can talk about how fracking awesome everything else was. I have TONS and will post mine soon. Tell us your stories!!

Aaarrrgh! Somebody please post a favorite. I want my Alliance fix. My favorites from my Origins weekend include braving the Tornado Watch, asking Mike Mearls about 4e monks, fighting a gelatinous cube in the delve, playing "Are you a Werewolf" with wooden cards, and demoing (then buying) Stone Age. Post, post, post! I need my fix.

One of my favs is the super cool pick up group that we got going friday night wild elf, stone elf, Elf fighter, MWE healer, Human healer and wood dwarf. Mostly low level but we worked very well with eachother Killed the bad guys saved the good guys and got the lootz. Everything that it should be :)

Ok, my event favs:

Its hard for me to list everything without first saying that i had a feeling this was the event i wasn't supposed to miss and boy was i right. thanks to plot for writing such awesome stories that we get to be a part of. It's been a long time since I loved larping as much as i do right now.

and Tab. cause I have seen how hard he works, and i LOVE the game he plays, and lets us play when he brings it on full force.

the Glorious return of the tag holds. everyone i talked to LOVED this.

Oh... and I would probably have to say that it is events like these and Bera's Outpost and a few others that really make people's claims (including mine) that Celestial scholars are broken, completely baseless. I haven't felt THAT useful, needed, and effective since Bera's outpost.

Anyhow.. there were alot of fav moments... so i might forget some.. but here's the big ones that come to mind right away:

Bunking with Ithica, Uzzio, and my friends is always a blast.

The costumes on the NPCs, costumes on the PCs, mod props, the site, so much of it is getting better and better every game.

friday night.. rifting away to Ashbury city with our very small group of mages in town. learning how to kick elemental *** Sym-style and take names.

meeting The Lady of Air (awesome costume Missy) and figuring out what all the crap that has been happening for the past year has been about.

The honor combat for the debt of Blythdale. I did NOT expect to see the Duke take a resurrection this weekend. nice job ithica..

ithica: "prepare to die - eviscerate"
duke frost: ".... no effect... "
ithica: " oh... uh... prepare to die 130 silver slay"
duke frost: "... OUCH!!..."
the crowd: " oh jeeze are you trying to torture him!? "
ithica: "...**** sorry.. killing blow 1 killing blow 2..."

The fight with the dominion. with multiple flanks and colors and flags and drums... it was civilized war and it felt more real.

Rifting to the cave to fight the stone elementals and get our last essences for the guild.. with the same group of 4 mages... I felt like cowboys.. like.. really good cowboys that elementals probably shouldn't mess with... because we were kicking butt.

Then.. of coarse... holy crap... the Elemental Forge. creating my Warden Badge.... wow... wow... Michelle has my undying love now.

My investiture ritual (take 2) succeeding!!!!

all the guild business that then got thrown into my lap. chats with Zat, identifying items, all the crap we bought and sold... bring it on, Nathan was born for this.

the thrilling split wave battle for the Ice Worm. Wow.... i went with the lowbies to get the thread of the elements and save the vanisr woman under Ulthoc's command. I have never seen a fight like that before. it was... organized... and.. successful.. and there were no holds.. and i got to make the ice elementals go boom with my new toy.. even the real low level peeps in that battle all said how great it was and talked about the monsters they got to take down.

Eric's Costume at dinner.. wow dude... wow. and how good and hot and filling everything was. I can't say enough how much these food services, and the people who work the tavern, and even the people who bring snacks to sell for copper, the showers on the site, all of it, really make the game so much better than it ever has been IMO.

The Phoenix Mod.... in the ten years of playing this game (granted, with a large break in the middle) i have been hearing about the kind of epic mods that legendary characters get to go on. This mod felt like that for me. 6 heroes from town, some with very opposite motivations but all there for the greater good. encounter a beast of epic proportions with lava all around (AMAZING COSTUME BY MISSY AND ACTING BY DAN).. after speaking to the creature sym stands up. drops his belt... and steps into the lava without hesitation.. dead. I look at ulthoc, garathon, and khorwyn, ulthoc and gwendara are already stripping.. i throw down my bags and belts and step into the lava. 120 elemental flame.. elemental shield... 120 elemental flame... got it... dead. and after the last of the heros sacrifices themselves to prove tot he phoenix (avatar of elemental flame) that our hearts are pure and that we are not the same as those who have come before to ask of it favors... the phoenix explodes in the lava hurling us outward unto the banks... ash falling all around us.. and a bright light eminating from the new phoenix egg now sinking into the lava... granting us all the gift of life.. we all scramble to regain our footing as ulthoc gathers the ash to give to the The lady of air, and we rift out. Ali was right.. best mod, you'll never see.. but 6 of us did.. and i am sure i speak for all of us when i say: "damn. job well done, and thanks for letting us be a part of it."

Here are the list of my favorites from this past event--though I must say that I didn't particpate Friday night due to coming to the game so late and being exhausted. I also did not participate on Sunday because we had to leave to finish moving out of our old apartment. So with that in mind...

  • Car Ride Up & Back: We squeezed in four people and all of our gear, braved the 3.5-4 hour journey, and had a blast in the process. Thanks to Rebecca, Brian and Ted for making that long drive awesome.

My Blythedale Boys: The Court of Blythedale is just an awesome group of players that really make it fun to play the game. I had a blast as we discussed fielding a team for the tournament and what we would do.

Map on Dead Guy Module: Team Blythedale decides to stretch their legs as they plan entertainment and they run into a dead guy. It was really cool going on this impromptu module. At one point I thought that everyone but me was down and I started to break into the parries and was about to drop all of my slays when I saw Garathon come around me to help take down Tab. Thank you NPCs for the great module--we haven't been on one as a team for a while and it was really cool to get to do it again.

Vex Squad: I love this team. Though I don't sport the red & white, I love being on the squad and interacting with you all. I love how this team works together and gets things done. I love seeing my friends shine and play some of the best darn soldiers in the game (even when one is NPCing ;p ). I was thoroughly impressed to hear how they worked together with allies on one particularly heinous module and helped make it a success. I couldn't be more proud to have a character that is part of that squadron. Thank you!

Sacrifices: I love Ivan--I love how big his heart is and how it is tempered by the code. He decides he wants to repair the rift between the Vansir and the people of Blythedale due to actions that took place over 100 years previously and he is willing to take a death to do it. I loved the role-play that took place between Ivan and I, Ivan and his Court, at the noble's table during Saturday morning breakfast, and with the Vansir chieftain (Toddo). It was really cool to see that a death could become an honor combat and being selected as second for my liege and knowing that I may have to fight against my colleague Ulthoc if he was needed as second. I was in awe with the terms the Duke gave--how he would be the sacrifice to heal the wounds ultimately regardless of who won. I was so happy when Ivan succeeded in winning the honor combat. I was so proud of my Duke and at the same time holding back the tears as the Duke sat down to take his death. There was a moment of levity when Ithica couldn't quite get the job done. It was an honor to stand in the healer's circle and watch as Cinder led the Duke's spirit back from death and see his Grace return in full form. There was a moment in the healer's circle Aven debated if it was appropriate for her to see her liege naked and cloth him prior to his spirit returning. She settled on folding his clothing next to his body and adverting her eyes as she covered his reformed body. Maybe if there is ever a next time she will take a peek!

The Struggle: My absolutely most favorite part of the weekend was when the nobles took the squires down to the creek to stand on the log of truth. It was very challenging to keep your balance while having questions tossed at you and responding to the best of your ability. It can be very difficult playing a character that is seeking nobility--especially in the squire stage where a lot of times you don't know where you stand. It is even harder to have moments where you can speak to the peerage and have that personal time with them so they can get to know you and you them. For the hour (or so) that we were down there, it was priceless to me. It marked a change within Aven and her whole view of squiring and her fellow squires. It was also a fun relaxing (and stressful) time to get to know each other. And yes, Aven would have milked the cow!

Follow-up to the Struggle: After that time down by the creek, it was really cool to talk to each of the other squires present and get to know them in more detail. It was also cool that the rest of the squires agreed with Aven that we were like our own squad (class of 608) and needed to have each other's backs and help each other shine. I feel like I am part of a new team instead of just a solo squire trying to prove myself. It is a change of mindset that I find instantly more comforting and challenging.

Healer's Guild Meeting: I got to sit in for Sophie, Cinder and Sun-Li. I must say that I really enjoyed the Healer's Guild meeting, especially the ice cream cake. It was really cool to hear the story of the new stone elf chick (I am sorry I don't have my notes and I am horrible with names!). I was totally creeped out!

Council of Warriors: "Always Kick ***!" Out of the Healer's Guild Meeting Aven, Ulthoc and Stoney came up with a cool idea. Just wait till the next event!

Battles: I loved all of the battles I fought in. Each one was a challenge. The Dominion battle we knew they were just testing our skills. The dual Ice Avatar battle was brilliant. I loved the look on Sophie face when I asked her to take lead of the rescue mission; followed-up with the look on her face when I told her that Squire Ulthoc would lead that group (about 10 minutes later). The Ice Avatar was truly scary looking. It was so much fun to try to nab pieces of him. Way to go Symerille for being the first to accomplish it! The Yotun battles were scary and crazy! I don't know who all was healing me--I know there were a few, but that battle brought a whole new definition to the Aven yo-yo! Particular thanks to Aubrey who I knew was keeping me alive, as well as everyone else, crawling through the bodies of the fallen and whispering in their ear to hold still while she fed us potions or healed us. Talk about one sneaky wild elf healer! Also a special thanks to Symerille for a well lent sword and then backpacking me to make sure nothing happened to said sword! LOL I didn't mind his priorities.

Good Role-Play: I really enjoyed all of the role-play this weekend. It was great to interact with the different characters (both PC and NPC). Thank you very much to everyone who attended the event and gave it their all. You completely made my weekend. I had a very rough week and I was completely taken away from that and all of the stress melted away. You rocked my world!

NPCs & Staff: Thank you very much for all of your hard work. I know that an incredible amount of effort goes into making the game what it is. Thank you to the staff of Faireplay for giving us a great site to play on. The addition of the third porta-potty was brilliant! Thank you to the staff of HQ for running a good game. And thank you very much to the hard core NPCs who never seemed to lack the energy to kick my ***! A special thanks goes to Tab who I don't think I ever saw sleep, rest, or sit down. You win my nero-hero award for this weekend.

I was sick as hell, my throat hurts so bad. But i gotta say it. This was one of my favorite events ever. It truly was, with not very much that was directly effecting me.

FAVS

Friday night, drunken Ithica. Lol the Bow and apple off my head thing. The pirate boat pretending. The private booty. All the peeps that were getting drunk. And all things Dee and Scott with their Barbs.

Same night, same pirate boat thing, I ordered Driefa to get up to the crows nest and she started climbing the interior walls lol.

The battles friday night as Drunken Ithica, talking a lot of smack. Lol Andros, and the rest of the peeps that made that Stone elemental battle funny.

Hanging/bunking with team human, and my Boy Uzzio as always

Going to Jotun-heim and taking revolving damage just because I was a human.

All things Blythendale I love Aven and Baron Drake, as well as the rest of you guys.

All things Vex Squad also.

Parduc - Khaadisha and that crew also, much fun and love to you guys.

Seeming to really feel like a Bad Arse in the saturday afternoon battle. Really able to get in there and target the undead with 16 Earth Aura.

Patrols, Walks, and Sun bathing.

And late night saturday battle. Taking on the Vaccaran front gates while we bought time for our sneaky peeps to get in. Before the battle, a little speech..

"Today we are as Ferosciouse as Lions, that simple. Shoulder shoulder we will give our comrades time to rescue the Knights, most of all, 7 in and 7 out, now lets wreck some F$%^ing undead face"

The same battle, 20 minutes of just intense fighting. Though it was a unscaled mod , staff and NPC's did such a great job IMO, for some down out fighting, not cheesy confines and arcane fears. It was really about holding the doorway, fighting smart, and relying on the 6 other bad *** peeps that were standing with you. Bryce, Sun lei, Iggy, Parduc, Gwen, and Khorwyn with da eaRFFFF storms. We rocked and you guys are all great.

And most of all, the Honor and Valor from Drake, Ulthoc, and the Duke with the hole honor combat thing,.

I.C. wise it was Ithicas Honor to aid the Duke in his selfless act of sacrifice... Regardless how painful it might of been....
OOC.. What friggin epic failure of trying to make it more then a simple "killing blow 1-2-3".. just terrible.

Good job NPC's , Good Job staff. Sorry peeps for leaving early but I was just dieing come sunday morning.

-Toddy

This was my second event PCing and my 4th all together.

Let me say that honestly, my favroight part of this event, was everything. Now, I know alot of people say this, but here's why I mean it. This event, Wynter got to kill a troll and take it's teeth. She got to heal Ulthok (I'm bad at spelling, forgive me) seconds before he died. She made friends in places she never thought she could. All within the span of the weekend. A few particular favs:

** These are not in any sort of order
1) Protecting Zat. I know she has a personal body guard already, but being small and a fledgling healer, I'm always at her side. In the middle of the battle on Sunday, she almost fell backwards off the rocks, and I poped up just in time to swing her back to her feet.

2) Finding a "Battle Buddy" I know this sounds silly, but Layona (again, bad at spelling, sorry) and I stuck together whenever we could, healing eachother and watching our backs together. It was great to make such a friend on and off the battle feild.

3) My Cabin. Bunking with Nathan, Layona, and everyone was awsum. I never felt such a sence of Familia outside of a gypsy clan other than with them. They protected me, I healed them, it was heart-warming to have that sence of home.

4) The Ice Mod. First off, let me say that doing it in two seperate "battles" was awsum because it let us rest. Also, to fight along side the other heros in such an orginazed, thought out and understood manner is really how I feel we were able to win and free the Vansear woman. I felt like I was NEEDED, and HELPFUL. That was a first in a while.

5) Makeing trouble. Going swimming in the creek with Pik, Leara and Leyona was so much fun and a great way to cool off. Sneaking around and scaring people in the dark weather on purpose or on accident was still extreamly funny. Watching the antics of the Tavern at "stupid-o'clock" in the morning were fantastic.

And last but not least, my All Time Fav Moment........

I was confronted by the Biata I and a few of us were chasing over in the Contested lands, who said I wrongly chased after him, and cut him down. I that very moment, I stood, and looked him in the face...

Wynter: " I did not hit you once, I stepped off to hear you out."
Biata: "No, but your FRIENDS did! Do you always run after and fight so blindly?"
Wynter: Stands and straitens her back: "I did what I thought was RIGHT".

This little fight, and the idea of being persecuted for my actions, was not only some of the best Role-playing I've had all weekend, but to stand in front of three very large opponents and tell one to their face that I was not about to back down??? I wanted to run screaming and laught at him all at once. By far my fav. moment in this June event!

Thank you NPCs for working so hard and kicking butt at everything you do for us! Thank you Michelle and everyone else in NPC camp ( I'm SO BAD WITH NAMES!! Sorry guys) Thank you Collin and Lopez for answering stupid questions for me. You guys really put together everything that made this weekend rock! And I totaly love the tag-holds. Great role-play happened, and I didn't have to worry about forgetting to give back tags at the end.

Thank you everyone, PC's andd NPC's alike for giving me an event to remember!

Soooooo many things I can say about this weekend.
First I think as a PC this has to be the weekend I got the least amount of sleep and it was all worth it!

The roleplay level was amazing!

The celestial guild elemntal mods were rocking......I have never been so nervouse going on a Module......the Celetial Bat phone rings....Nathan, Squire Raven, a visiting Darkelf (my mind is drawing a blank but your character was very cool to hang with) and I get called to the circle and rifted away.....the 4 of us are looking at eachother and going... normally there more of us .... we put on our game faces and the celestial magic explosion was BEAUTIFUL.....We made sure no-one fell! The NPC's kicked butt too! Thanks you guys rocked.

Getting to see some cool elemntal plot happen was priceless....I am lucky to have been included and thank the other players who helped.

3 Thesi and a human in the woods.......Cant wait to see how badly they will come after me...

Justin Cogin - You rock bro

The big baddie was prisoned and killed : then Henry comes up to me-
Henry - Life this varg so i can kill him properly!
Ulthoc -We cant he doesnt have a metabolism.....
(this happenned twice)
I loved that!

Of Air Avatars and mythical creatures! (Missy you totally rock!)

Swimming in liquid hot magma...... That was one of the best roleplay moments I have ever had...One minute I am talking to the Phoenix the next minute I knew what I had to do....stripped and jumped in didnt think twice about it.....- Allie / Michelle that was kickass!

Watching the honor combat with the Baron Ivan and the Vansir Chieftain....

Meeting some old friends Jim and Wife hanging out with them and then acting as courier. I was supposed to deliver a sword I was carrying and the town is in the middle of a really bad fight....lending it to Squire Aven and then making sure she was alright because if I lost it ....I dont even want to think about it in or out of game! LOL

Watching Ulthoc and Raven on Sunday organizing the town......

I had a really amazing time! Thanks to all the PC's and NPC's!

Cant wait to see what else happens!

Roleplay with Kadija! (I love that Kitten)

Excelsior!!!

Onitt

I never really post my favorites about an event, but after playing on both the light side and dark side, I had to say this event was awesome. Some of my highlights:

- All things Justin Coggin. Whether he is a goofy goblin or a mean spirited thessi, he really immerses himself in the role and brings out the best of the PCs. He was my npc of the weekend.

- Teaching Maddox (tim's dwarf) the roguely art of backstabbing.

-Scott as Threy. Nothing is more entertaining than drinking with a barbarian who could kill you with one blow.

-NPCing for the night. At first I thought I was gonna npc for an hour or two, but I end up running around all of saturday night. The dark side is indeed tempting.

- Having discussions about the law with Sir Eros. Perhaps my favorite quote of that discussion came from Ithicus "Can we have one discussion that doesnt have to do with Veil!!??"

-As always, doing the rogue dance with someone.

I have so many more, but my brain is frazzled from lack of sleep. All I can say is thank you NPC, thank you Plot and a big thank you to everyone who makes this game better.

Chris

wow i dont know where to start... the whole weekend was great, i never stoped having a good time. i guess ill just have to name the first few that pops into my head then maby add later...

friday night wavebattle teaming up with pik and sneeking behind the npc battle line and rolling them. lol

Threy, Ithica, Corwen drunk in the tavern and trying to get me to get drink with them

being given the nickname/title of privet booty on ithicas makebelieve boat then having that title carry into the next day lmao

geting the chance to roleplay with layona and talk about how many things we have in common lol

getting to kill several trolls and trade goods with several ppl

fighting with squire raven about me killing a troll:
Raven: (to troll) if u leave here now and dont come back we wont hurt u
troll: ok, ok ill leave...
troll waks by and Leara fallows and waylay him
Raven: good. hes fine there... (walks away)
Leara:(to uncontious troll) u dont deserve to live. killing blow 1,2,3
later Squire raven and Leara get into a fight about it. i liked the roleplaying tho

getting to "play" chess with sophie and her friend (sorry i forgot your name)

all things plot. plot did an exalent job this event! it was nice to be able to know and understand what was going on in the town. and there was no confusion. anyone who wanted to kno what was hapining could easly find out.

being able to go on maby 3 mods a day!!!

being able to fight off and affect the things i faught in all the wave battles and still be scared in knowing i can easaly die if i wasnt carefull about it.

evening swims and elven parties :D

rollplaying/fighting with/agenst degen in the last wave battle:
degen comes in to attack me and says: run Leara run! get outa here i dont want to hurt you!! i run away and someone else steps in to fight him. that was awsome!!

making new friends an meeting new ppl in and out of game

i know there are a million more but ill have to post the rest later as they come back to me....

oh i wanted to add a HUGE thanks to all the npcs this event you were all kickin a** and, sence im almost always dark side,i kno how insaine it can get and i noticed how there was constintly something happining and dispite the heat and crazy mod schedules everyone brought there A game and it showed,if it wernt for you guys i would not have had as much fun as i did so once again...
THANK YOU NPC'S!!!

-The 2am rescue mission. I was so scared and so amped at the same time. I loved the whole concept and the undead machine was hella cool.

-Playing chess with Sun-Li. While fun in and of itself, the comments it generated from less civilized onlookers was also highly amusing.

-All things Justin Coggins. I still can’t believe you actually rubbed some dirt in it.

-All things Vex Squad. You guys rock (of Trelheim)

-Split wave battles/split mods. I think this is a great tool. I only wish I could have npc’d for the other halves of these. ;)

-School House Rock of Trelheim

-Decency laws! Sophie agrees with Baron Ivan on this one!

1. Watching my wife have fun and try to grok LARPing.

2. Social stuff. Meeting new friends and seeing old friends. Eating with Chris and Onitt who showed me some me some fine local dining.

3. Trying to get my school started. I'll settle for walking around in the woods and ending up on two APL 9 mods (thanks Jesse!) where I'm the spike.

4. The NPCs. Very clean fighting. I didn't take a headshot all weekend. Pretty sure I didn't deliver any either :) Didn't get charged or anything. You guys were awesome - I definitely thought there were more of you until I saw you all together for the Sat wave battle.

5. Mike, Chris, and Onitt in logistics. Very smooth.

6. The trolls, the bone, and the biata from Thessi. Great when you get sweaty and tired fighting a bit and then have the fun continue in the tavern where there's shade and water.

7. Not losing the magic sword. I once lost 3 magic swords (well one sword and 2 axes I think) in 5 minutes so maybe I can kind of clean up my image now...

Oh geeze...

Well, I have to say, being a total newb to all of this, the highlight of my weekend was being being to blow through two quivers of arrows and actually hit something. Oh, and throwing a Shatter in the last battle and having it successfully hit it's intended target made me do a little happy dance. It doesn't take a lot to please me. Haha. Let's see what else...

- Friday night when a drunken Thray (sp?) took my bow in the tavern and tried to shoot an apple off of a drunken Itchica's head, which totally missed and hit him square in the chest and blew his magic armor. Apparently this act, which I had no part in made me "tough" to Thray. Haha.

- Managing to sit quietand continue drawing a picture of the stockades as I saw "the wind move past me" and completely not meta-game at all. I just kept thinking, "Keep sketching. You didn't see six NPC's just walk past. Frak. Frak." Thankfully they were only ants. Oh, and nice butt on the queen ant. Fabulous.

- Battle Buddy Wynter: Every time I stepped more than ten feet away I could hear Wynter scream and shout, "Leona! Where are you?! Stay in my sight, dammit!" It was rather endearing, and comforting to know that as a total newb I am not on my own.

- Meeting Leara/Amanda and learning that we are freakishly soooo similar. We both are named Amanda out of game. We both have names that start with "LAY" and end with "AH" in game. We both are Khergani archers. This event was the third event for both of us. So much roleplay in game, and many fun OOG conversations.

- Saturday night's Gypsy-Khergani swim party along the border of the Contested Lands, and the impromptu Elven Cultural Gathering in the woods. Nothing like two Khergani trying to effectively keep the attention of a Stone elf. :D

- Yay for low level mods! Yay for finally being able to do something useful!

- Having Todd and Josh call me "Bacon-tits" less times than I can count on one hand. I'm sure a new breakfast food nickname will take it's place.

- Speaking of Ithica; totally came and kicked some troll *** at way too early in the morning to hit me with a cure light. My count was totally at 51 seconds... More than that, my being being able to laugh at how I was attacked in the first place: I was walking up the hill from "Elven Cultural Gathering" in the woods and saw three figures outside the cabin:

ME : "Hey guys, it's fine. It's Leona. Every thing's alright."
TROLL : "Oh, is it?"
*commence beat down*

- Watching Robb/Nathan gloat about being in the mage's guild in the way that no one except he can. "Oh, let me let you go by," he says as he steps back into the mage's guild circle to let me past. Haha. Dork.

- No Hold battle was awesome.

- NPC's that kept coming back for more, with not a single disgruntled look on their faces. Thank you!

Oh man... running out of steam... I think that is it. :D

Wow let me just say that this is the 5th event in the 5th different chapter I've been to in a row and this one is still the best one yet! Seriously it seems like every single one is better than the last and I don't know if/when its going to stop improving!

First off this was my first time at Fair Play and just walking into that Tavern = amazing. I was hardly even tempted to go OOC while in there.

Getting recruited for mod the first night before I hardly knew anyone, and after reading about how the last time the mages guild tried to do this and got wiped, not wiping! In spite of totally being the level dip. Hey it made up for Sym! ;)

Stoney!!! I went on both the crypt mods and seriously, they were some of the most fun things all weekend. The machine in the first one, amazing! I so wish we had figured out more about it. Then then the spiders and tossing the liquid light down the tunnel. I wish all cave mods could be dark and spooky like this. Not to mention the awesomeness of saving the retreate with Wall of Force. :D Totally love that spell. = 2nd or 3rd module I've saved with it.

RP with Barbarians. As a Celestial Scholar I'm always a little bit worried about this, but it was cool. And Not Dispelling one who was Paralyized out of respect for their wishes was great. Not to mention just watching the honor combat, very cool.

Oh this is just a small thing but... Celestial Rock! Nathan, Sym, Raven, and Telock you guys were all fantastic to RP with. Plus this is just the first event my character has really gotten exposure and the chance to talk to Stone Elves.

Makeup sunday morning. "Hey its a Regular, Dark and Stone elf all doing their makeup in a line! ^_^ I just love elf'ing it up!

Celestial Guild = awesome! Joining up, talking about the importance of Celestial Magic, and not to mention all of it on a Barbarian weekend.

The split level Ice battle, I was actually tapped before this fight and I still had a great time. I even hit a few things with my dagger. ^_^ Oh gosh so many things, RP with Parduc, Sym, the new stone elf, Telock, Winter, Stoney. And also just feeling like I could jump in a really be a part of the game in spite of this being my first event at HQ just made it pretty much the best event to date for me.

you need to update your sig my man.

add: "Apprentice Fairdale Mages Guild"

good to meet you, awesome costume and role play!

Indeed! The signature update has happened. :D Likewise I had a fantastic time meeting and RP'ing with you as well! I love all things Celestial Guild and such related.

To many dam Apprentice positions! But someday I'll start moving up the ranks I hope. ;)

Dearest Eldarion,

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the RP between us, and I WILL play you in 3-dragon ante at some point. Just wanted to let you know ( cuz I'm a dork and it gets to me) my name is spelled with a y. Wynter. Anyway! *giggles* If you're around, I would LOVE to further our banter as to who will beat out who in the card game. ^_^

just thought of a few more concerning vex squad:

Ignatious taking nathan aside to ask him to shatter "the one" sword. very cool.

picking on Sophie for her accent (when in truth I am quite jealous of it)

Sophie: Actually I am 3 hundred (soemthin somethin)
Us: how are you that old and still human?
Sophie: It was the curse on icenia (plot explanation)
Me: hmmm.. so... that explains the accent...everyone must have had it back then!
Sophie: You're on my list!

I can't even begin to describe how cool this event was for me. This whole season has been a lot of resolutions for an old warhorse of a character, and it's really been phenomenal.

"Inspiring" doesn't even begin to describe the ride up.... taking some crazy country backroads through beautiful unspoiled woods while listening to Dragonforce and Ironfire getting ready for a Vansir event

Getting to roll with the Stormblades a little bit more... whether they were PCing or NPCing. You guys are great from all aspects, and I love any time I get to spend with you.

Getting awesome plot resolutions to cross-chapter effects... you can't ask for better than that!

The Log of Truth... Scott has set some major benchmarks for himself in my eyes with his play of Duke Frost over the years.... and never fails to deliver... thanks again man.

The Phoenix Mod... this is just gonna be one of those things talked about for years.... Six players, either four or five in the bag, a few pretty deeply. I approached all of them the same way: "This needs to be done, and there's a great risk involved... at least one of us will die, and all of us might not come back. There's no shame in not going." Nobody backed out. We were told what needed to be done. Without pausing even for discussion, Sym dropped his belt and stepped in to his death. I whispered to Gwen for her to go first so she wouldn't have to see Ulthoc die, She embraced him, dropped her gear, and stepped in. I walked around to the other side, stared and Garathon and nodded, and stepped in. Garathon dropped his gear, looked back, and stepped in. Nathan and Khorwyn shook hands in parting, and stepped forward. It was freakin' epic. Six true heroes: no treasure, no glory, no battle, nothing anyone else would ever see, and honestly we all expected the death to count and probably one of us to not come back. I really feel there's a bond there between those characters: we know the measure of each other. I can't say thank you enough for this mod.

All things Tab, from both sides of the fence. He makes my storylines better than I can write them, is awesome to roleplay with, and he adds so much to the game. If you ever have questions about how to make the game better, just tape what this guy does, and play it back and take notes.

Henry, as Shoran and a "PC cameo". The garnish on the weekend, but such incredible stuff.

Toddo never gets enough thanks, mostly because he never stands up to be recognized for what he does. Even a lot of the stuff he doesn't write, he acts as a sounding board for, and brings roles to life the way many others wouldn't.

I know I say this after every event, but I have to: Thanks to Christine Ditzler for some of the most mind blowing personal roleplay. Those who really get to see it know what I mean, and the rest, honestly, I hope you'll experience it someday. There no way I could have ever believed this storyline would be this incredible. There's so many minute things you do to enhance the game for me, and the immersion is stunning. For the first time ever, I'll actually be sad to loose this character.

Kudos to Ali and Mich for writing an event where both Barbarians and Celestial Casters feel equally loved.

I'm sore. My knee is swollen. I'm exhausted. And if the event was running again tomorrow, I'd be repacking the car. I don't know that I can say it any better than that.
