June 27th Event Favorites!

Thanks HQ for such a wonderful time! Michelle and Ali are great motivators, and I was so happy to garb up for whatever they needed. Thanks everyone who made this event possible!

-All things Chris Hernandez, the man is a rogue's rogue! From swiping all four spikes from the tale of the Ice Wyrm (before I could blink) to hopping fence and helping NPC camp for some sick combat and roleplay...he's the man, so glad you're back in action bro!

-The Thessi encounter was pretty hot. Christina and Tammy were awesome. Mike was great as the archaeologist. It will be fun to see how that pans out. I'm glad you got such a kick out of that Meg, you rock.

-All the mods I got to participate in for Jesse G. Another one of my NERO heroes returning! It brought back fond memories of when I used to go on mods with Stony back in the day.

-The brilliant goblin ambush! Nothin' to see here, just a little poopin!

-Being random healer guy selling protectives at stupid o'clock leading to being tickle assaulted by Khaadi and Ikmoqs, good stuff lol.

-Inadvertently hooking my team to go on a pretty neat mod, and Ignatius' gut reaction to the exact evil that would unfold. It was so hard keeping a straight face. I love being a part of vex squad.

-Rebecca Watson! You are amazing and it was so nice to see you again with your cool new character!

-Onitt, Tom H., Tammy, and Christina for really being there for me when I switched on the breakdown button lol...thanks guys you're awesome I'm glad I have friends like you.

-Tab for kicking *** at everything all the time. Seriously. He really cares about the players and the game, he's a great dude, and awesome at making things sound like a commercial. I wanted to buy every mod he had me participate in, and get the accessories to match.

-After dinner ridiculousness at Bennigan's was one of the best mods too. We traversed a treacherous path of innuendo with no apologies. Good times!

I'm really glad the event was such a success and there is so much positive feedback. We really have a wonderful community of folks in this game, I love playing with you all. Thank you PCs and NPCs for such a great experience. I hope to see lots of you come out to the NJ event this weekend. I will be darksiding once again for what is sure to be an awesome event!

Playing a lowbe that swings 2s and pulling off alot cool stuff.

Mods mods and more mods it think i was on 5 or 6.

Playing the market with rit scrolls and magic items from said mods.

The Really cool hunt items, got me out and walking around all over. I hope to see alot more of that kinda stuff.

I never get into the "main plot" of weekends but this event there was alot of simple "one and done" kinda stuff that i really liked.

Getting to gas down huge npcs. ( its just wrong to hit someone with a laugh and then kill there 100+ body with 2s  )

Rping a dwarf is really fun i think ill be sticking with it for long time befor i go back.

--- Telokh receiving his Blythedale tabard. Now I just need to have one of my million characters join Nordenn and I'll have the baronial hat-trick!

---Finding out the result of Telokh's "carousing" last May while race changed to a Vansir. The news came from Ali's Chieftess of the Bear Tribe shortly after her rescue from a block of ice. I was in the tavern and was called to the window to see Ali standing on the road below.
Chieftess: You are Telokh? You should really go to the Reclaim. You have a bouncing baby boy!
Telokh: I have been trying to find out about this for the past year, without success.
Chieftess: He looks like you...He looks A LOT LIKE YOU.
So, what shall happen to the Stone Elf child of the Vansir Bear Tribe? Tune in next month for our next episode. LOL

--- Getting to be the one to Prison and Killing Blow Chief Hagan of the Bear tribe (the Varg that Henry wanted to be Lifed and killed properly). Hopefully that act, Celestial magic notwithstanding, will help to ingratiate Telokh into his son's Vansir family.

Actually, I did NOT feel spot on all weekend, especially with my roleplay. Ironically, that makes for a great (if long) set of highlights/favorites:

As always, the difference between the IG and OOG reactions to my vansir costume, affectionately dubbed the “furkini” by the general public.
OOG: I lost track of how many times I heard “I love you”. Thanks for all the flattery.
And I’m so glad everyone liked the mask, because it wasn’t that comfortable!
IG: as per usual, no one dares get flirty with the scary vansir chick.

Thanks to everyone who entertained me with their looks of terror:
Mike Stabley (the first time his character saw me),
The girl who plays Sryah (sorry I don't remember your real name!), who was walking out to NPC a Jotun for my first mod (still OOG), saw me, and stopped dead in her tracks for about 15 seconds like a deer in headlights.

Picking on Khorwyn when he was drunk, including our first conversation: Khorwyn: “You have a snake on your face. Let me take care of that for you.” I snarled “Go ahead”, got right up in his face, and said OOG “Do you accept physical roleplay?” The look on his face was priceless as he gulped “Um, I think so? Please aim for the soft chair.”

Fighting with Threy. Entering a mod or wave battle feeling unable to lose because you have a legend next to you only enhanced my enjoyment of the fights.

Not being the only fur bikini in town. Dee, you looked hot!

Getting to explain the Vardic flower several times IG. For those of you who didn’t get the story: The Duke gave Krem a red carnation at the tournament several years back, and she had it encased in “glass” (OOG- resin) and wears it around her neck for good luck.

The ice cave wave battle. I felt like we really won it; not that it was handed to us. Ulthoc giving me command of a small flex squad to fill in the tactical gaps, picking up the Sword of Goban off of a fallen Kursk to fill in when the front line collapsed and trashing some elementals. I love that sword. Instant front liner: just add magic sword.

Playing possum in the Saturday night wave battle to protect the Sword of Goban by covering it with my body so the Jotuns didn’t see it. (Obviously, it was a point in the fight when we weren’t doing so well.)

The final Jotun wave battle. OOG, I was afraid to go out there at first, since it was my job to protect the Sword, but I got to do a lot of beating on some people who are much better fighters than I am, and got to use the Sword’s special powers for the first time.

Roleplaying with the true chieftess of bear tribe (no clue how to spell her name, sorry). Almost makes me want to play my vansir often enough to develop a plotline.

The Duke asking me if I was coming to his formal ball. I think it is the only time Kremhild has laughed in his face. Later, he protested, “But your sense of style would add so much to the occasion.”

The Duke taking the resurrection for Hagan. It was an ingenious move politically, and gave us yet more motivation for hating Hagan at the end. And yup, Ithica is definitely stupid enough to be a vansir. Way to go, dumb@$$.

Holy crap what an awesome event. Huzzah for the return of some serious mod action ALL weekend long, crunchies crunchies crunchies, and excellent role-playing by so many among a much smaller "cast" of players and NPC's. I love me some small roster events. Moving on...

#1. Watching the characters of my closest friends becoming more and more integrated into plot and stations among guilds and nobility. Three cheers for Nathan finally becoming invested, and for Garathon teetering on the verge of...well apparently a very squirely log? Oh, and seeing Leona not only meet her twin, but also grow more and more comfortable on the battlefield was very inspiring. I think she shoots better than me. Friggin' elves.
#2. Finally receiving a private audience with the Duke regarding my interest in joining his Rangers, and having him tell me, "You're gonna start out as a grunt just like every other n00b," but in a very encouraging way. ;)
#3. Going on the Phoenix Mod. So much has already been said by others who went along for that brief, yet amazingly important mission, but it was truly a test of character and honor. I fully expected to resurrect after clasping arms with Garathon and leaping into that lava, but it would have been a worthy death for the significance the outcome held for everyone. Oh, and thanks for creeping me the heck out, Dan.
#4. Being witness to the remarkable "machine" prop that Rich and Tim made for Stony's underground exploration mod. The quality of that prop is out of this world, and shows the devotion that some of our people have behind the scenes to provide as immersing of an experience for the players as possible. It must have taken incredibly long hours to create such a masterpiece, and I hope everyone gets the chance at some point to see it and pull its fully functional levers!
#5. Finally feeling useful and comfortable with my bow during the last wave battle, as I ducked in and out of my cabin for more arrows, and swiss-cheesed the crap out of our foes. 14 Body my ward, bitches.
#6. Drunken. Tavern. Revelry. Who knew stuffing my tunic with goblin gold, engaging in random ball-tapping, getting robbed, and having my *** kicked by my love interest could be so entertaining?!
#7. Becoming recognized and relied upon for more and more secretive plot tasks. I never intended for Khorwyn to be such a ninja, but he makes his player proud.
#8. 2am Saturday morning mod madness. Being a part of the "late night" crew, even if I am the lowest leveled member, is not only challenging, but seriously rewarding. It's an honor to have the opportunity to roll with such heavy hitters, and be counted respectfully among them. I apologize to anyone in town who heard my rather loud and boisterous "Earff Storming" around 2:30am. It was my first time as a "caster," and I was just a little excited. :D
#9. Despite the in-game frustration of Khorwyn, having his Spirit Farewell Ritual sabotaged and postponed due to thievery made for some seriously fun role-playing tension.
#10. Having the opportunity to watch Baron Ivan's honor combat and the Duke's taking of a life was incredible, even if Ithica n00bed up his execution. Actually, I think I liked it better because he n00bed it up! ;)

Here's looking forward to the Ball! I hope I can find something suitable to wear, and a concrete team so I can shoot me some real archery. Thank you Plot and NPC's for making an awesome weekend once again! :D

That was great, even from the dark side of the fence.

Although I didn't get to see some of the coolest things this weekend, I still had an awesome time.

Favorites:
Friday night to crunch and get people active was cool. For our last life, a group of us fire elementals rifted in and proceeded to dance in the fire-pit to throw flame from.

Just the over-whelming energy that Tab brings to the game. Things are always fun with him around.

The split wave battle was intense. Going from combat with the lower levels, straight over to the bigger scale combat with the wyrm, and getting to see everyone working together against us.

Unfortunitely I crashed on Saturday when the sun did since I wasn't feeling well, so when I got up on Sunday I just put on a white headband and followed some crunchies out.

"We want some of your Faired Ale!" "Yah, give us your Faired Ale!" *Trolls begin to chant for ale.*

"You want to trade me for HIM? You think I'm worth that? F*@k you, Ulthoc!"

There were some more great moments, but I think I would've had more fun if I would've been able to sustain myself Saturday.

Okay, my turn:

* Obviously, fighting Hagen, the Vansir chieftain, was a huge favorite. I love that this game allows players to affect not just the outcome of the events, but the game's history as well. Thank you to Toddo and Plot!

* Duke Frost taking the honor death was an awesome moment. After he was executed, Ivan just sat there next to him, lost in the moment. I was immersed into my character very deeply at that point. After the duke faded away, Krem (the fur bikini barbarian) grabs Ivan's head, pulls him close to her and snarls, "You'd better be worth it!" Yikes!

* The Log of Truth! I don't think there is any doubt that this was a favorite for everyone involved.

* Team Blythedale! Adding Telokh as an official member and dealing with Melleth's craziness! All good stuff.

* Garathon as the worst bodyguard ever. Krem, the previously mentioned fur bikini babe, walks up right behind Ivan and puts her dagger across Ivan's throat..... and Garathon just sits there! Yeah, I feel safe.....

* Healer's Meeting. I wormed my way into the meeting as an "honorary member" and found out they serve ice cream at these meetings!!!

* Mods! The Blythedale mod (the first all team member mod) and the map mod where we were sneaking down to the stream in the darkness.

* Missy's Air Avatar rocked.

* The Dominion Battle. So, Ignatius and I walk up to discuss terms for the battle and the Isenverfector (or whatever his title is) says they don't need any non-combatants because we are a disorganized force. So I said, "We're still gonna kick your ***" and we did!

* Wynter running around the battlefield as the non-combatant. She was awesome!

* Elissa's stone elf. Awesome character history!

* NPCs. I jumped the fence and got to "rogue" with Chris (Greysmere) and watch Tab in action. I sometimes forget how hard it is to NPC. You get a stat card and have to memorize it within a few minutes, then go out and get smacked by eager PCs. I never feel like I'm doing the monsters justice because I barely have their skills memorized and I'm being beat on by like 6 PCs! It's hard to be a good NPC, but we have so many great ones! Thank you!!!

* Plot folk. Our Plot people are just so awesome. Thank you so much for putting together great events for us!!!

o ya one more fav for me was pointing my Xbow around like it was a smg most of the weekend. And the cool npc that Rped having it pointed at him like i could really kill him with one shot to the face so he droped his weapons.
