Hello everyone, my friends and I recently heard about larping, and we all thought it would be a blast. Alliance LARP seems to be the best one in Minnesota, so I'm trying to organize a group of us to go to the August 14-16 event, but I have a few questions first.
1. Obviously, the rulebook and handbook combined are over 200 pages long. What would be the best way to teach my friends all the rules and whatnot? I was thinking about having a few training sessions over the summer leading up to the event, but it definitely feels a little overwhelming.
2. I'm just curious as to how many PC's usually attend the summer events... like are we talking 20 or more like 100?
3. One of my friends that would like to go larping with us is only 15. When we go in August, he will be only 2 months away from turning 16. He is very tall for his age and could easily pass for a 17 or 18 year old. He really does not want to be a page but rather fully participate in the festivities, so I'm wondering if there are ever exceptions for the age limit. If so, who would we need to contact?
If you could help answer any of these questions it would be much appreciated.
