Latex Axes

I'm looking for a set of latex axes but the problem I run into is the worry that they wont pass based on the trapping factor. I'd hate to shell out the money for them only to find out they don't pass. I'm looking for two short axes so 25-32 inches that I can dual wield.

Any ideas? Axes you use already?

Links would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You should look for ones like this one: http://www.larpdistribution.com/p-93-la ... l-axe.aspx

The simple flat head design should alleviate any trapping worries. You just have to find them long enough. I know there's several sites that do sell them in a longer length, but can't remember which ones off the top of my head.

Yeah, I've looked through a few sites. Usually they are too short to be considered a short axe and end up falling under the hatchet size. That or they are 36 inches which then fall under the long axe section and make it unable to dual wield two of them.

I've found a possible one here: http://www.darkknightarmoury.com/p-4470-erik-the-viking-axe.aspx

However, I was told that it was pretty stiff and didn't hold up very well/might not pass. That is a lot of money to shell out on a "might not pass."

This is another option: http://www.medievalcollectibles.com/p-5163-larp-cleaver-axe.aspx

I'm not as big a fan of this design though but if it worked it would allow me to dual wield them which is my intent.

Pretty sure he still does custom work and can probably do what you're looking for.

I second what Sarah said. That link is probably your best bet for a quality weapon that meets both your design criterion and all Alliance safety rules. The problem you're going to run into with any commercially-made latex weaponry is that the heads of these weapons will likely be made of closed-cell foam, not the open-cell foam that is called for in the rulebook. Granted, with latex weaponry, your local marshalls may allow it anyway if they feel it is safe...but it's all up to your local weapons marshall in the end.

edit: pre-made -> commercially-made

Mark does the heads in open cell.
