Light

Simon

Adept
I sit here in the calming
before the storm of spring
When all is sewn and polished
And tomorrow comes to bring

An end to winters slumber
As dreams begin to turn
And soon begins the dawning
Of a new fire set to burn

So light for me a candle
That burns with blackest light
Think kindly for my passing
As I fade into the night

I remember as it were yesterday
When these lessons I had not learned
And tomorrow was just a promise
for which I always yearned

But still the youth they linger
They are born and yet survive
Into this world I walk through
Forgetting how to be alive

So light for me a candle
That burns with blackest light
Think kindly for my passing
As I fade into the night

So I traded hope for survial
when my heart it went insane
And I found reason in nothing
And nothing I became

Save a fool to walk the darklands
Where death becomes a friend
And pain becomes a home
And home is just pretend

So light for me a candle
That burns with blackest light
Think kindly for my passing
As I fade into the night
