Something that just about anyone could do (Mike, chapter owners/staff, and even players) would be to post comments on LARP-related forums with a link in their signature back to Alliance LARP.
I'm not sure if all the current chapters are listed on the Dmoz Open Directory (http://www.dmoz.org/Games/Roleplaying/L ... /Alliance/), but that's definitely something to hit given how there are tons of sites that syndicate that data.
You could also look for LARP blogs and news sites and submit articles and such to them that would not only link back but could also give more information about the Alliance LARP experience. A few off the top of my bookmarks list would be:
http://www.larpsource.com/
http://larpers.wordpress.com/
http://larptower.com/
http://www.alltern8.com/
And keep in mind, while a national level effort is good, a lot of these things are the sort of thing that can be done by the chapters as well to promote themselves specifically.
