In most cases, I assume that one may optionally check-in their magic items for an event (only bringing those items which are checked in).
If an item is spirit locked or linked, or a ritual was cast on one’s spirit (so “magic item” tag says target is spirit), then I assume that it is required that we check-in the magic item tag?
The exception being for LCO effects from a different chapter.
Example: Bob has an LCO Arcane Armor from Denver cast on an item. He then casts an Arcane Armor ritual on his spirit, so he can travel with Arcane Armor (so a “restricted” magic item tag for Bob’s spirit). In Denver Bob wants to avoid checking in the restricted tag (only 2 logistics periods left) and instead use the LCO item (10 logistics periods left on it), but he isn’t allowed to since the restricted tag is on his spirit.
Example 2: Sally has a spirit linked pole-arm for one of her characters, Galadriel. She wants to travel to the national event, but cannot afford the outrageous expense for oversized luggage. She therefore cannot play Morgana at the national event, not even by loaning an identical pole-arm made by the same company (since magic items are considered unique and have to have the item code inscribed on them).
