May Newsletter Posted!

soooo... if the original rates (1 copper for every 10 words) are still being honored, and you published 6447 of my words (that's the edited version final word count, not the original i sent) does that mean I should expect to receive 6 gold, 4 silver, and 4 copper sometime at the event?

Holy cow, that's a lot of coin! You know, come to think of it, I don't think I've ever collected for my submissions. Which is generally fine, because Alda would refuse coin anyway (what with her not liking metal.) BUT, now that I can create a few potions, Alda WOULD accept the ability to make her potions (only 15 copper/day right now) as payment for writing to the Ashbury Times. That leads me to my point - I dunno how to do that, logistically. Is it possible to just tell logistics OOG "I wrote for the newsletter, can I have my potions this weekend?" and then IG say something like "The Ashbury Times supplies me with the ingredients I need because I write articles for them" ?

monster camp is supposed to doll out the coin i think. it might even come out of treasure for that weekend, i don't understand all the backend stuff.

they usually either send an NPC in to find the writer, or they give it to logistics in an envelope with the persons and amounts written on it so the PCs can pick it up as they come in.

I'm hoping the policy is still in place as i never received an e-mail back when i wrote IG and asked about it. I'm not saying i did it for the money solely, but it was an incentive. it took me a long time to write that stuff, and the guild needs coin to operate so.. here's hoping this doesn't just fall to the wayside...

Keep a look out, we will send someone IG with your payment at the next event. You can work things out from there.

Awesome, Amelia, thanks! Alda will probably just role play some things about not wanting to take coin, but maybe having the Ashbury Times sponsor her ability to make potions? (I swear that is literally the only thing I ever want money for.) We can role play it face-to-face and talk about the possible logistics of it OOG at the event :) Woot!
