This past weekend has been an unprecedented one for the Alliance LARP community and we understand that people are confused, hurt, and angry in their own measures.
As National staff, Owners, and Presidents we care about Alliance LARP. We volunteer our time and energy into trying to make the game and the organization better every day. We care about all members of Alliance, and want them and the game to thrive.
This game that we all play together relies heavily on trust. We rely on it as players, we rely on it from our chapter staff, our national staff, our chapter owners, and our Presidents.
This trust has been broken.
For those who are not aware of the situation, two statements were launched into general chats of Discord servers of chapters and nationally throughout Alliance. These statements contained very concerning information regarding a lack of disclosure of a registered sex offender as a staff member in an Alliance chapter. Alliance Denver has since responded, as they were directly impacted by the allegations. You can find the response of Will in their Discord server's general chat or the Alliance Denver subforum at this time.
As a team, we have already taken action to write a proposal that includes a stricter nationwide stance regarding registered sex offenders. Our goal is to create a policy which will serve as an enduring safeguard for our communities. The proposal is currently being voted on. This will take time to go through the mandatory 2-week voting procedure before we have news regarding a national policy, but know this:
