Friends and meatshields, I bring news from my mission. You told me to go scout out the lands of the Tranquil Plains. I return with news from the last 4 months.
I traveled the great expanse and found myself hunted by the savage legion. It was as if they could sense a weakness in traveling alone. They are a vicious lot. I avoided them the best I could and eventually found myself on what could only be the lands of my cousins. They are very great warriors. Very proud. They bring much honor to themselves by their fierce ways.
I lived with them for roughly 2 months. They taught me a lot about their customs and their culture. Hunter Grobo MacKropac of Clan Silvermaw told me of how they patrol their lands to keep the Savage Horde at bay. She introduced me to her betters, like Shaman Lora MacKropak. She is very bright and has a passion for cooking. You should have tried her stew... almost as good as Rippers' stew... hmmm you haven't met Ripper yet... But still... a great stew. Shaman Lora let me stay in her hut while I learned as much as I could. She was very kind.
I was able to meet and have... tea... (bleck!)... with Chieftain King Pok Mor MacKropac. Oh, if you could see him fight. He was as skilled, if not more skilled, then Krieger! I saw him cleave a handful of trolls on his own. Just cleaving them down the middle like it was a hot dagger through the fat of a boar! Not sure why they like tea over beer though. Odd.
We drank tea with Duke Naried MacDormgan, an earth warrior whose skill of combat and healing was only tempered by her beauty. Seriously... she has tusks that go on for days... lovely woman. There was Count Inriok MacCor who casts celestial magic with the ease. He was a bit level headed for one of my kind and tended to laugh the most of the group. I remember eating and drinking with my kin... well for the most part... I think they drugged the tea or something because it was strong!
What I did learn from all these nights with the Silvermaw Clan is that the Orcs of the Tranquil Plains are at a stalemate with the Savage Horde. Neither can get a foothold on each others lands. The savage horde just mass produce their warriors through breeding, while the High Orcs tend to cut them down by the hundreds every month. I think we should help my kin in the Tranquil Plains. Chieftain King Pok Mor MacKropac wants to hold a tourney near our lands in October. I think we should discuss more about how we can help them during that time? I also think we might see them sometime this weekend.
Oh, one other thing. These Orcs know a lot about the savage legion. Even their ranks and how they progress in their military structure. Here is what I learned...
The Savage Legion has a ranking system like any other military, except that theirs is based on the cunning, viciousness, and power of the individual. I was told by Count Inriok that the Savage Legion ranking is as follows:
Dreadnaught (+”Ro” to name as well), these are the leaders of the Savage Legion. There is no one Dreadnaught that leads the others, there are multiple Dreadnaughts, and each has such a depravity that cannot be fathomed. Tread lightly if you encounter a Dreadnaught.
Marauder, these are the right-hand units to a Dreadnaught, often hand-picked for their tenacity, depravity, and ability. Generally, Marauders lead contingents of Savage Legion in the absence of the Dreadnaught.
Ravager, these Savage Legion members are ruthless and cunning. They lead an individual contingent that has several Reapers.
Reaper, these lead individual companies of Savage Legion, generally on the order of magnitude of around 100 Savage Legion.
Pack Master, they handle the animals and feral Savage Legion.
Blood Mage, Bone Shaker, Trackers, are all specialists that have depraved abilities. They have sacrificed much to gain the power they have and they are not afraid to use it.
Warriors make up the basic infantry of the Savage Legion.
The Hungry are all of the feral and weaker Savage Legion. They believe that eating the flesh of their opponent will give them power. It may be true.
I hope that my scouting has proven useful for the scholars of our town? Bones is tired now. He is going to sleep for a couple of days and get his strength up. I will see you all this weekend, yes? I invited my brothers "Dry Rot" and "Ripper" to come join us. Yes, they are as bad as me. But they have strong warrior hearts like me and will do as I do. If all goes well, I am planning on bringing the rest of my kin in October.
