New to the Crossroads

Well, I've been hearing some interesting things about the Crossroads lately, and have decided to come see how true some of them are. Hope all of you don't mind a little bit of nosiness. I certainly can't be the first and I bet I won't be the last.

Anyway, I'll be needing a place to stay until my things get there. I'll happily help organize/keep books for someone for the duration. I also trade in scrolls if you'd prefer.

Ashlan, welcome to the Crossroads. Hope your stay here is quiet and unadventurous. That hope will be in vain of course, but here's hoping anyway. If I get the job I recently applied for I'll gladly hire you on as an office assistant, and you can quite easily find a bed and place to put your things in the Earth guild for a minimum fee until you find more permanent lodgings. Just ask around for me, I'm easy to find. My name's Solomon and, conceited as it may sound, everyone here has heard of me.

Unlike my friend Solomon up there, I'm just an average citizen of the town, but I wanted to say "Hi." and let ya know that if ya ever need anything, I'll help as best I can.

If you require any magical training, or simply wish to trade/buy scrolls, potions, or the like, may I highly recommend Ambassador Polare Lissenstine. He is a highly respected scholar and would be happy to guide you in the ways of Celestial Magics (or to trade/buy from you).

I apologize for not answering your thoughts earlier; your original note somehow passed by my view without my noticing. Welcome to the Crossroads (formerly known as Crocevia Fatuae). I would be happy to answer any questions you might have on the area.

The Earth Guild commonly accepts travelers. I might also have space for you in my cabin should you be willing to accept a Ward, although I would need to interview you privately for this. No offense is intended; I'm sure you can understand this requirement with the current aura of danger that hangs over the town. Please let me know if you are interested.

A ward sounds lovely, honestly. Much better than the wizard lock I was beginning to think I was going to have to throw up on some abandoned building.

What kind of danger can I expect when I get there? Other than the aftermath of that huge battle you recently fought out there anyway?

Actually, you will be pleased to know that there are a number of open buildings set aside for the Adventurers of the area. Whether or not you fit this category, I'm sure one of these (such as I use regularly) would suffice better than any abandoned, ruined cabin out in the woods if you feel such is necessary.

There are a number of dangers in the area, ranging from exotic denizens of the Fell Realm to more "mundane" dangers such as hungry wolves and rampaging Undead. Unfortunately due to the planar disruption recently suffered none of us are really quite sure what dangers may (or may not!) lie in the area around us at the current time. But think optimistically; perhaps we are now in the most peaceful area known in all Fortannis, a land in which we may spend our days frolicking with the unicorns and creatures of joy and eternal bliss.

The odds of that, unfortunately, are quite low.

Anyone know a good rememdy for chapped lips? At this pace, Avaran is going to need a hefty supply of it *praising* both Polare and I so highly.

Polare, well done. Another apprentice properly trained in the arts.
