A letter is posted in the Happy Husky, the Sticky Mermaid, and other taverns the adventurers frequent.
"My friends, as some of you know I have been dealing with some errant werecreatures harrassing the good people of my Barony and the Weaver family lands of Kierellius over the winter. It seems I have far underestimated them. Last winter Sir Quacks, Squire Honks, Warden Elros and myself tracked them to a valley near the border. There were approximately 100 of them, knowing we were perhaps slightly outnumbered we could only observe them and watch as they killed Gregor - the only werewolf I would consider a friend. They considered him a traitor.Over the last month they have stepped up their attacks, led by a wereboar calling himself Senshi. Duke Archibald De'Were has been struck down by him, and while many of the werecreature assassins were slain, Senshi has escaped.The entire Northern Duchy is short on silver, I've alerted the Merchant Guild to expect payments to be processed with the brown metal some of you use as all silver reserves are being melted down for weapons.The Minister Council has decreed that the Ducal Seat will temporarily be filled by Ministers of the Northern Duchy as well as the Barons and Counts as an emergency measure. Dame Edwina and I will not be in attendance this gathering, we must protect our people.Be safe, all. Until we cross paths again ... Strength and Honor.
