2. It is a Deadlands event.
3. If your character spends time in our chapter between events, they hear rumors about and may even experience some startling phenomena.
3.a. If you have played a Deadlands/NH October event before, some of these may be familiar to you. Some of these developments are listed next.
3.a.i Undead seem to be growing stronger, particularly spectral undead.
3.a.ii It appears that Circles and Wards are less than fully reliable against undead at this time.
3.a.iii Some locals have started to hollow out a few extra squash, decoratively carve them and place a candle or other light source inside, believing this to be a valuable use of their time and very limited foodstuffs.
3.a.iv Some other locals disagree, and really think that food is for eating.
3.b. Some Thelucian experts have speculated that the early and powerful advent of the symptoms of the weak veil may be attributed to the current "troublesome issues vis a vis our native sphere and the demi-sphere colloquially called the Shadowlands."
3.b.i These experts predict further and more severe consequences.
