Greetin's!

Yesterday I were walkin' through ta woods when I was hearin' fightin'!. Fairleh soon I come across a dead Dryad, several of the local heroes fighting spiders, some wierd poofballs and these two giant see through spiders tearin' apart trees. I can only assume they were dryad trees, since there was screams as each one dissapeared.

Now, these are creatures of earth. I think we might have an issue? Here's what I know so far:

1. The Creatures are incredibly strong. They flung me away from a tree with strengt only know to Dell hisself!
2. They cast fay magics
3. They seem to... unravel things as they touch them with their claws and mandibles.
4. They claim the trees were bein' relocated to somewhere called "Adeona"?
5. They claim the Dryads were only temporarily killed, though the one I saw dead never seemed to come back to life.
6. They were accompanied by small puffballs who ate magic and rusty brown armadillos.

Has anyone else encountered such a thing? What/where is this Adeona? Do people know what these are and who/what is directing them?

*a distorted echoing voice slides from shadows, and the edges of perception*

...yes... they are spiders of the weave, unmaking, remaking, that which we touch...some of us have been to other places...and ...told to leave for this place we were at ...was not ready ...yet...
...I suspect these things eat magicks, and other items of significance...

...I think this place is soon, to achieve a great metamorphosis, and shifting of what we know, what we thought we knew, and what we once perceived as real... some of us have seen this before...

...

Hi, this is Aziraphel. First off, none of this sounds good, and I am sorry for your misfortune to happen upon this, Goodman Silverforge.

I truly hope that this, in fact, does not mean another metamorphosis for the world, as we have all worked quite hard to keep the one we have. However, I will leave the analysis of descriptions to those with more knowledge of magic and Andar than I have. I do have one question, regarding the companions of the spiders. Were the rusty brown armadillos and small puffballs who ate magic, or small puffballs that eat both magic and rusty brown armadillos.

Actually not making jokes, the last time I was there I heard whispers about armadillos in worried tones.

Aye, Lad. We all fight ta keep tha worl' as it is, neh?

The little puffballs dispelled magic at a swing o their claws and tried teh devour one lads magic spear! Tha Armadillos? They were seemin' ta eat metal and shatter things, lad. Expensive or proftiable dependin', aye?

The puff things were were trying to eat anything that they saw was magic.... the armadillos things destroyed what ever they could lost a silverd sword to them...

...This sounds lovely...

magic eating, metal eating monsters, and spiders unmaking the world.... great.

...perhaps we should start stockpiling harsh language I'm sure that will come in handy.

Ya know, tha' migh' be tha onleh thing wha' works! We tried fightin' em. Shrugged off everythin' and started usin' fae magics.

So we got puff balls eating magic and armidilos eating metal. Have we tried beating them off with a large branch? Just a thought could not hurt to try.

Suddenly sleeping

Huh?
*blink*
Dammit, I fell asleep...
*sigh*

Well, I guess I'll report in while I'm here.
Sorry I didn't spread much of this information around before I left the Crossroads, but here's some useful news.

The crystal spiders are Weave Spiders. They're tearing down the weave in town. I assume that the puffballs (magic eaters) and the armadillos (rust monsters) are helping. It's thematically appropriate, at least. Don't bother them, they know what they're doing.

The next part of this is going to sound... confusing. You're going to have to follow my terminology through.
The Weave (the part that we're concerned about at least) is centered around the 'Crossroads of Fate.' The city Crocevia Fatuae, was named after its location. When the city got moved to its current location, the name of the city was changed to "The Crossroads." It is still named after the "Crossroads of Fate." The "Crossroads of Fate" is not inherently a specific location, there just happened to be a city built on it because it was the "Crossroads of Fate."

I'm not sure how much of the City will be torn down, but I assume that many of the important parts will be. It is possible that some of it will remain intact, but I don't have much evidence either way. The cause of the destruction is that the weave is being moved. The "Crossroads of Fate" is moving.

When I learned of this via my Celestial Etherioscope, I left the City and headed towards the new "Crossroads of Fate," which I located using that same device. Until just a few moments ago, I was there, but now I doubt it. I am endeavoring to observe the construction of this new Weave, but it is difficult to access. The new location is full of the crystal spiders, the magic eaters, rust monsters, as well as many of our common neighbors; gnolls, trolls, ogres, kobalds, etc. I have made several attempts to study the area, but every time we fall asleep once we're inside, we wake up on the road several days journey away. Similar to how some other folk who stumbled through some portals to this location were told to leave, I believe the time is not yet due for our occupation of this new place, but I intend to study it none-the-less.

It will be a few days still until we return to the new Crossroads, I will try to bring more information to the Dreaming next time I am forced out.
