Aside from keeping it roughly PG-13 or lower, avoid religious symbols, anachronisms, and OOG references and you'll probably be fine.

Yeah, dragons exist in game. It is a fantasy game, so feel free to use whatever monsters or whatever you want to. My wife painted a Celtic eagle design on my shield - one of the benefits of an actual wooden shield is you can paint directly on it.
It's really not that strict, just avoid actual religious symbols like a crucifix or the Islamic star and crescent, and don't stick something like the Horde symbol from Warcraft on there.
