Plot restrictions of certain areas

I remember in the old Player's Guide that there were restrictions involving certain PC races not being able to live in spesific areas or certain places closed by plot.

Are there currently any restrictions?

I would like to have Plot especially weigh in on this question.

Too many to list. If you are making a character history you should send your idea to plot and they'll help you develop it to fit into the game world.
