Pre-Season Training Day & Clean Up Day

Greetings all,

There are two dates we would love to see you all at in the coming weeks.

Training Day: Sunday March 22nd.
Time: Noon (but Gary will be there early)- Till when ever we feel like leaving.
Location: Forest River Park, Salem, MA
Here is a map: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl
$3.00 for Faire Day XP, (yes, that's right, I said XP). We will need approximately 15 people for the XP to be applicable to everyone.

This Training Day is designed to help new players learn the rules of combat and skills without having to stress over an IG atmosphere, as well as help older players fine tune their abilities. No Costuming or IG items required, with the exception of your weapons and packets. We will provide just a few of each and strongly encourage you to bring your own. This will also help new players to learn how to wield that weapon they will be carrying for a long time. It will be mock battles and skirmishes so obviously come prepared to fight. We recommend comfy clothes and shoes. The park is public but a number of us have been doing this for fun, for years, and so we have a good spot camped out. Closer to the day we will work out a way of finding us.

Claremont NH Site Clean Up: Sunday March 29th.
Time: Noon (but Gary and Jaimi will be there early)- Till the sun goes down or we're done
Location: Claremont NH
See NH Website for Directions

So far there is a lot of snow left on the ground so we will be watching that closely. Our main goal is to build a roof for the communal cabin. We would appreciate any materials and tools you can donate, or a Home Depot Gift Card if you feel so inclined. I know there are a few people interested in either building a new cabin on site, or helping to shore up the ones that are there. This is a great day to work on that and see your friends again.

That's all for now. We hope to see many of you at these events and look forward to the coming season.

will you guys be doing any weapon building on the 22nd? or just Combat training. I have much interest in learning how to build the bophers properly, and this seems like a good opportunity. I would also gladdy participate in using them. This is all assuming time permits.

so boooo!!!! My one sunday out of the month where i have two parties booked and it's the 22nd. Luckily one is in Providence area and the other is in Brockton, so I'm actually not that far away. Depending on timing, I might be able to make an appearance (with a car full of fun).

I would be happy to show you how to build a weapon during the breaks if you bring some materials. I can try to bring some things as well, but this will primarily be a "let's learn the rules and beat each other up all day" sort of thing.

Gary

Assuming i get up there. What materials would i need to bring?

Tape, foam and pipe? or would i need tools as well. I can check the rule book for the required stuff i guess... now that i think about it.

I just asked Mike to mail them to me five minutes ago, so I imagine as soon as he gets them he'll send them along my way. I'll put up a post as soon as I have NH's order.

GARY!! bring books to the cleanup day PLEEEEEEEEEEEZE so i can buy some. thanks. i actually got on a computer. can't wait to see you guys. just a few more weeks until clean up day YAHOO. can't wait to see the site. okay so working on the little brother in law to get him to come play this year woot! see you all on the 29th...we can't make it to the practice training day :(

Gobbies will be awarded based on time spent there, effort, contributions, etc.

It'll be great to have your tools and skills for the roof!

the weather is calling for rain on sunday. is the clean up day still happening?

No matter what we need to have the clean up day this Sunday!

Sorry guys, but after this weekend, the East Coast Alliance Season starts up and therefore this is the last weekend that most of us will have free.

I look forward to seeing everyone there.

Also, if you want a crap-ton more of extra gobbies and feel so inclined, we are looking for people to help transport NPC camp from Haverhill, MA to Claremont NH for the clean up day. We are all meeting in Haverhill at ~9am.

If you are interested in this, please email me asap for directions. Based on what you can fit in your car, gobbies will run a-plenty. Obviously if you can only fit 3 weapons, then they won't run as a-plenty as if you could take say, 3 weapon barrells full of weapons. ;-)

Those barrels of weapons are for my car and my car only! I've transported them enough, I've started to become quite fond of them. Like weird, misshapen, duct-tape-covered babies. In barrels.

I remember having a conversation about duct-taping a baby and using it as a bopher weapon... i dont remember who though...

Baby's make better armor.

Most people don't hit them.

People not hitting them ruins the POINT of baby armor. Each baby that gets hit is a Drain or Death spell that you don't have to take. For years I've lobbied for being able to go out with cabbage patch kids tied all over one of my bad guys but my other plot people keep hitting me with socks full of quarters every time I bring it up. :(

Toddo,
You're wrong.

They're not quarters. We upgraded to the Sacajawea gold dollars.
